Day 2 of Event #53: $800 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack 8-Handed has ended and an extra day will be required before a champion is crowned. The 440 players that returned to action were scheduled to play down to a winner, but after 15 levels of play, 10 players remained and they will return on Tuesday afternoon for Day 3.

Leading the remaining players is Santiago Soriano who bagged 27,300,000 at the end of the evening. Following closely behind Soriano is Daniele D'Angelo (21,415,000) and Amir Lehavot who bagged 20,175,000. All three players secured some knockouts late in the game to catapult them into the top three spots of the chip counts. Lehavot is the only remaining player looking to add another bracelet to their collection, with his first coming back in 2011.

The frenzied eliminations featured many notable faces including Maria Konnikova (46th for $6,690), Phil Hellmuth (67th for $3,904), Dutch Boyd (77th for $2,853), Lee Childs (131st for $2,853), Joseph Cheong (170th for $2,473), Kathy Liebert (190th for $2,473), Alex Foxen ($202nd for $2,164), Greg Raymer (208th for $2,164), Asi Moshe (225th for $2,164), Matt Affleck (245th for $2,164), Brad Garrett (336th for $1,704), and Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson (343rd for $1,704).

The remaining players returning for Day 3 action will be battling it out for the coveted WSOP bracelet and a first place prize of $371,203. Cards are in the air from 1 p.m. local time on Tuesday 25th June, where play picks up on Level 36 with the small blind being 250,000 and the big blind 500,000 with a 500,000 big blind ante.
