Richard Sheils Eliminated in 16th Place ($34,422)

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Richard Sheils
Richard Sheils

Richard Sheils moved all in for around 500,000 from the small blind after the action had folded to him and saw fellow Brit Jamie O'Connor snap-call.

Richard Sheils: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Jamie O'Connor: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Board: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

It was an extremely unfortunate situation for Sheils, and his luck didn't improve on the flop as O'Connor hit top set.

"Seven" said Sheils before the seven of clubs hit the turn.

"Six" he added looking for the straight on the river to survive, but it never came.

O'Connor took the pot to move up to 1,900,000 and Sheils exited in 16th place for $34,422.

Joseph Couden
Joseph Couden

Joey Couden moved his last 270,000 to the middle from the small blind and big blind Ivan Galinec made a quick call. Couden had {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but he was behind against the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Galinec.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Couden was sent to the rail.

Joe Cada commented that he was a 'sun runner' before turning around to the other table to confirm that was a valid term. Galinec almost doubled his stack since the start of today and is among the bigger stacks in the room.

Joe Cada
Joe Cada

The third day of Event #70: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed at the 2019 World Series of Poker will see 28 players return out of the 815 players that registered for the tournament. The 2009 Main Event champion Joe Cada is at the top of the counts with 1,389,000. He is accompanied by chip leader Joao Viera (2,100,000) who is looking for his first piece of WSOP gold, just like Shahar Levi (1,800,000) and Olivier Busquet (1,433,000).

They will all battle it out for a spot at the final six players. They are already guaranteed to take home $21,558 but they're aiming for the top prize of $758,011. A spot on the official final table of six will guarantee them $110,127 but there is still a long way to go. The average chip stack at the moment is about 870,000 and the blinds will start on Day 3 at 10,000/20,000 with a big blind ante of 20,000.

Other players that still have a shot at WSOP glory include Chris Hunichen (1,051,000), Ryan Jones (1,031,000), Pierre Calamusa (965,000), Richard Sheils (842,000), Marton Czuczor (710,000), Patrick Tardif (634,000), and Christopher Brammer (345,000). Three players left in the field are looking for their second bracelet. Barry Hutter (1,047,000) has the best position out of the three but Ankush Mandavia (614,000) and Joey Couden (404,000) are still in contention as well.

They will continue at 2 p.m. local time in the Miranda room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and PokerNews will be on site to report on all the action until the final six players are set for the final table.
