Laubach With the Double KO

Niveau 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Charles Laubach opened to 4,500 from middle position followed by a call from Ankush Agarwala in the small blind.

William Kasouf was already risking 1,800 in the big blind and only had roughly nine big blinds remaining. He announced "I already have a gut shot" and threw in a 5,000 chip to make the call.

The {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop saw all the chips flying. Kassouf declared "I qualified" before throwing his remaining 13,700 chips in the middle.

Laubach made the call but Agarwala quickly moved all in for around 85,000. Laubach had them both covered and also moved his chips in the middle, only the see good news that he was a huge favourite.

Laubach: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Agarwala: {9-Spades}{10-Spades}
Kassouf: {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The meaningless {4-Diamonds} turn didnt help either player but the {k-Clubs} river sealed the deal for Laubach with a double knock out and all the chips.

Ehrhardt: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Kartalyan: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} sending Kartalyan to the rail.

Simunic Forces Snap Fold From Zabukas

Niveau 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Josip Simunic and Victor Zabukas were engaged in a blind versus blind battle with {4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} on the board. Simunic check-raised Zabukas' 15,000 turn bet, and with a huge chip advantage a call from Zabukas would have put him at risk.

Zabukas snap folded, leaving him with 27,500 in the beginning stages of Day 2.

Only Aces (Or Eights) Full Could Beat Gaspard

Niveau 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Jean Gaspard at an earlier WSOP event
Jean Gaspard at an earlier WSOP event

Casey Campbell limped from early position, Lucas Fauth raised to 8,000 from the hijack, Jean Gaspard cold-called on the button, and Campbell made the call.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}, and the action checked to Gaspard, who bet 11,000 and got a call from only Fauth. The turn came the {3-Clubs}, Fauth checked, Gaspard bet 16,000 and Fauth put in the all-in check-raise. Gaspard snap-called.

"If you have aces full you're good," said Gaspard.

Lucas Fauth: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Jean Gaspard: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The ace-trey was indeed good enough for Gaspard, as the river {10-Spades} changed nothing.

Kwok Came to Play

Niveau 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Christopher George opened the action with a raise to 3,200 from middle position, and with a flat call from William Shanks action was on Chun Kwok in the small blind.

Kwok elected to three-bet to 14,300. George quickly got out of the way and Shanks made the call leaving him with roughly 60,000 behind.

Kwok didn't slow down on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{j-Spades} flop, as he grabbed a stack of 5,000 chips and put them in the middle effectively putting Shanks all in.

With not to much thought Shanks folded and Kwok scooped in a nice pot to start the day.
