Sammartino Eliminates Katz

Niveau 2 : 0/0, 200 ante

Danny Tang limped in first-to-act. Dario Sammartino, in the hijack, raised to 3,000. Cary Katz, on the cutoff, called. Tang added the remainder as well.

The flop was {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Tang checked. Sammartino bet 25,000. Katz called, for less, putting at risk his last 3,500. Tang folded.

Cary Katz: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Lodden Thinks, With a Side of Poker

Niveau 2 : 0/0, 200 ante

On a {7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, Bill Perkins check-called 7,000 from Alex Epstein and the river was the {10-Hearts}.

The pot between the pair came at an inopportune time, with the pair both involved in a game of Lodden Thinks. The Brain? Jason Koon. The question? How many times has Koon said the word "shit" since the age of 10. The current number was 2,000 from Perkins who checked the river.

"For Lodden," said Epstein. "I'm going to say 2,500. For the bet..." He put out 10,500 and Perkins called. Epstein showed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a flopped full house and Perkins mucked.

"Not a bad flop," said Epstein. "I'm not a greedy person but if I was picking flops."

Perkins then increased the number to 3,000 and Epstein took the under.

"Way over," said Koon. "Since I was a child?! I was 18,500. I think I say shit like 10,000 times a month!"

Perkins Uses his Add-On

Niveau 2 : 0/0, 200 ante

Jason Koon limped in first-to-act along with Sam Higgs, in middle position, and Perkins on the cutoff. Anthony Zinno, on the button, checked.

Players saw a flop of {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} that was checked around to the {q-Hearts} turn. Koon and Higgs checked. Perkins bet 5,000. Zinno folded. Koon check-raised to 11,000. Higgs folded. Perkins moved all in for his last chips and Koon snap-called.

Bill Perkins: {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Jason Koon: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs} completed the board and Koon won the pot with his straight, while Perkins was forced to use his add-on.

Perkins Short After Higgs Double

Niveau 2 : 0/0, 200 ante

Bill Perkins

Getting it in for his last 22,000, Sam Higgs held {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on an {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop against the {a-}{k-} of Bill Perkins.

Higgs wasn't in as bad a shape as it initially seemed, with the ace also serving as the bottom end of a straight draw, with any nine giving him a straight.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} but the river {7-Diamonds} improved him to two pair and left Perkins short.

"I've still got my extra chippy," said Perkins. "When do I use it Jason?"

Jason Koon has plenty of experience in short deck tournaments around the world.

"Don't use it," he advised. "Play short."
