Volpe Takes on Green

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Brian Green had 5,000 in front of him from the hijack, facing a three-bet to 16,800 from Paul Volpe in the small blind. Green called.

Both players checked the {4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, and the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn. Volpe bet 16,000, and Green folded.

"First time I've had that hand all tournament," Volpe told a tablemate while he stacked up the pot.

A Win For Raymer

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The board came down {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and Greg Raymer had a 6,000 bet in front of him while sat on the button.

His opponent called from the big blind, and the {8-Clubs} hit the river. The action checked to Raymer again, and the 2004 Main Event champ bet 12,000.

Raymer's opponent thought for 30 seconds but ultimately decided to fold and give up on the pot.

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Brian Kim opened for 3,500 early and got called by the small blind before the big blind shoved all in for just 12,800. Kim reraised to 25,000 and the small blind tank-folded. Kim had {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and was flipping against {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} but the board ran out in his opponent's favor as it came {q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Wang Builds Stack

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Yilong Wang
Yilong Wang

Yilong Wang started the day around the starting stack but has since done plenty of work. Just now, Wang raised to 3,500 and called a three-bet to 9,200 by his table neighbor to see a {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop, on which both checked. Wang bet the {j-Hearts} turn for 7,000 and the {9-Spades} river was checked.

Wang tabled {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and that won the pot. The same table also features Simon Deadman as well.

Updated Chip Counts from Amazon Tan

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Kebe Misses a Big Draw

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

On a flop of {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}, only Jimmy Kebe on the button and David Harris in middle position remained in action as the latter had checked and Kebe bet 21,000. Harris moved all in and Kebe asked for a count, the shove was deemed to be for 86,500. After more than two minutes, Kebe made the call and the cards were turned over.

David Harris: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Jimmy Kebe: {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {4-Spades} turn gave Kebe further outs, but the {j-Spades} river was a blank. Despite winning this big pot, Kebe still has a playable stack while Harris doubled to more than that.

Boatman Takes Down Three-Bet Pot Against Foresman

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The action folded around to Joe Foresman who raised to 3,600 in the cutoff, the button folded and Barny Boatman three-bet to 9,600 and the blinds got out of the way before Foresman made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of {k-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Boatman continued for 6,000 and Foresman raised it up to 15,000 which Boatman called.

The turn got checked through on the {j-Clubs} to see the {8-Diamonds} on the river. Boatman led for 25,000 and Foresman gave his hand up rather quickly.

Souprayenmestry Returns, Doubles, Doubles Again

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Jean Souprayenmestry
Jean Souprayenmestry

We shared the story of the man who thought it was dinner break a few minutes ago, and that man, Jean Souprayenmestry, returned to a stack of just 3,000.

Fortunately for him, (and seemingly fortunately for his very good-natured table, who have begun celebrating his victories) Souprayenmestry has managed to rally that stack all the way up 40,000, more than three times what he had before his unscheduled dinner break. This includes doubling with {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} against {j-Spades}{2-Spades} for his last 7,300 after winning an initial double, then waking up with aces two hands after break to double again.

We'll keep an eye on Souprayenmestry and see if his run from 3,000 continues.

Brandwein's Three-Bet Takes It

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
