Pope Pops It on Turn

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a pot of already more than 300,000, the board read {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Alexander Pope announced all in which forced his opponent Jeremy Stein to make a decision for his tournament life. Stein thought it over but relented to the shove, giving Pope a nice pot.

Yifrach More Than Doubles

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Gal Yifrach earlier this summer
Gal Yifrach earlier this summer

The floor was called over to the table which already had Gal Yifrach and Andre Akkari seated at it. James Calderaro had just been moved to this table as his old one got broken up. Yifrach claimed that he had seen one of big blind Akkari's cards. The dealer explained the situation to the floor, Yifrach explained again that he saw a red picture card. The floor looked at Akkari's cards and then got another floor person over to confirm the decision; the other floor ruled that play would just continue as is. Akkari looked a bit stumped but play did continue.

Yifrach raised to 8,000 from the late position and was called by the player in the hijack, Allen Nielson in the cutoff, and Akkari himself in the big blind.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Akkari checked, Yifrach continued with a bet of 15,000. The hijack raised to 35,000 and both Nielson and Akkari folded.

"There I go with the picture cards..." Akkari commented.

Yifrach called to see the {a-Spades} on the turn. Yifrach quickly bet 15,000, his opponent raised to 55,000 and Yifrach responded with a shove of 165,000 which was snap-called.

Gal Yifrach: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

They had both flopped two pair and turned a full house but Yifrach was ahead with the higher full house.

The river completed the board with the {k-Diamonds} as a formality and the bracelet winner got paid the full double-up.

Miles Put on Clock

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

TK Miles was tanking in a battle of the blinds with {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} on the felt. Preston McEwen had bet large with 50,000 into about 55,000 and Miles was lost in thought when someone called a clock. The supervisor arrived but Miles didn't need much longer before calling. He placed the chips in front of McEwen as if conceding them, and he was right to do so since McEwen had {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for queens full.

Sneed Shoves Into Aces

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

It was a three and four-bet battle between Mitchell Watson from the small blind and Archie Sneed from the big before all the chips ended up in the middle.

Mitchell Watson: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Archie Sneed: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Sneed didn't like what he saw but received a little help from the {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop.

The turn fell the {4-Spades} and Sneed was drawing to a king that didn't come as the river fell the {7-Hearts} and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Hashem Beats Jaka in Massive Pot

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
John Hashem
John Hashem

With action picked up on the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} turn, John Hashem bet 60,000 out of the small blind and Faraz Jaka called in middle position.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Hashem announced a huge wager of 250,000, equaling roughly the size of the pot. Jaka quickly called, but he learned that Hashem had him beat with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a rivered full house.

Jaka flipped {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a flush and he conceded a big pot, allowing Hashem to vault over 1.4 million.

Stratmeyer Wins River Battle

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Big blind Christian Stratmeyer was facing either a bet or a raise to 52,000 with only 40,000 in the middle. Jiang Qian had made the wager with {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} on the felt and Stratmeyer responded with a raise to 110,000. Qian peeled his cards several times and then released.

"Nice hand," he said.
