Kessler Doubles in "Ridiculous Hand"

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Eoghan O'Dea raised the button and Allen Kessler defended out of the big blind to see a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Kessler ended up all in for 287,000 and once the cards were tabled, he said "you really have a set there on the button? That's a ridiculous hand."

Allen Kessler: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Eoghan O'Dea: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {6-Diamonds} turn was a blank, however, the {8-Spades} river improved Kessler as one player at the table pointed out "and you have a straight."

Minkin Doubles Through Livingston

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kelly Minkin
Kelly Minkin

According to both Kelly Minkin and Alex Livingston, the two of them got into an all-in preflop situation resulting in Minkin doubling up.

As Minkin recalled, Livingston had opened from the hijack to 28,000 and Minkin shoved from the big blind for 112,000.

Livingston took the recap from there, stating he called with {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. Minkin had {a-}{q-} and found herself in prime position for the double.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, giving Livingston a pair of nines on the turn before Minkin filled up to a pair of aces, ending with the best hand en route to the double up.

Up on the main feature table, Gilad Gutkin got his last 397,000 chips in with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} against Allen Cunningham's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The flop {j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} gave Gutkin trip kings and a lifeline to remain in the Main Event. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} but the river {q-Diamonds} gave both players Broadway and they chopped it up.
