Niwinski Carves Some from Skrbic

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

The board read {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades} Michael Niwinksi bet 160,000 which was called by big stack Milos Skrbic. The river came the {7-Diamonds} to double pair the board. Niwinksi thought for a few moments and announed a bet of 750,000 which left himself only 100,000 behind.

Skrbic thought for a few seconds but made the call without any real deliberation.

"ace-queen" asked Niwinksi unsure and showed {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. Skrbic nodded his head and flashed {a-}{j-} before mucking it as Niwinski carved some off of the big stack.

Also some other stacks at the table.

Gonzalez Bluffs Into a Full House

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On the secondary feature table, Fabrizio Gonzalez opened to 100,000 and picked up three callers in Christopher Wynkoop in the hijack, Michael Kapernaros on the button and Eric Cloutier in the small blind. All four players checked through the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop and the {j-Hearts} turn paired the board the second time.

Cloutier checked to Gonzalez, who bet 100,000 and forced a fold from Wynkoop. Kapernaros raised to 350,000 and Cloutier let go, while Gonzalez stuck around to see the {9-Clubs} on the river. Gonzalez jammed for 645,000 and Kapernaros snap-called.

Gonzalez was caught bluffing with the {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Kapernaros had the {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for a turned full house.

Stokkan Takes from Ajayi

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Adedapo Ajayi opened from early position to 135,000 and was called by Preben Stokkan on the button. The two went heads up to the flop {9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Ajayi continued for 200,000. Stokkan called.

The turn came {q-Spades} and Ajayi checked. Stokkan fired 300,000 into the middle and Ajayi wasn't going anywhere as he made the call. The river came {k-Hearts} and both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

Both players tabled their hands nearly simultaneously and Ajayi quickly turned his over as he saw Stokkan's {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} were good to take down the pot.

Friedman Exits with a Smile

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Adam Friedman returned from the break with a little over 500,000 chips and he wasted no time getting them in the middle. Christopher Sly re-shoved all in from the cutoff and the rest of the table folded.

Adam Friedman: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Christopher Sly: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"Bryce Yockey! Get over here!" Friedman yelled across the room. "This is the best hand I've had in hours."

"This one's easy," Yockey said as he joined the rail.

The dealer fanned the flop of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} which didn't look good for Friedman. "Fuck you this is easy," Friedman said with a laugh. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn left him drawing dead to the {q-Spades} on the river.

"I guess I'll be playing poker for a living next year," Friedman announced as he exited the tournament area.

The tournament clock is currently showing 150 players still remaining with 20:00 to go in the fourth level of the day. The players are being sent on another 15-minute break. When they return, they will play one more level before a decision is made on whether to continue playing afterward.

Here is a look at what happened in the past two hours on the felt:

Showers for McNally

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Steven McNally was just eliminated from the tournament, exclaiming "Showers!" as he passed by. It was unclear what he said the hand was that he went out with but it was a situation between two pocket pairs.

This was McNally's second cash in the Main Event and the second time he made Day 5. The Ohio native took 235th place in 2016 for $36,708 and eclipsed that mark this year with a finish around the 150th place-mark and a payday of $59,235.
