5 Things You Don’t Know About the WSOP Online on GGPoker

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Now through the first part of September, the WSOP Online will be exclusively on GGPoker, so whether you're playing on the client for the first time or you're a seasoned online pro, we thought we'd bring you five things you didn't know about the WSOP Online on GGPoker.

  • 1. STAKING on DAY 2:
    Poker fans and players can now buy a piece of their favourite player's action or sell their own should they survive Day 1 of phased tournaments.
  • 2. Convert Multiple Event Tickets into T$
    After the series has finished, your unused tickets will be exchanged for T$ that you can use to enter any tournament on GGPoker
  • 3. Pick Your Own WSOP Event
    When the WSOP Online schedule on GGPoker was announced, the poker community was intrigued to see a new type of bracelet event announced! Three 'People's Choice' events were announced, with the formats and buy-ins yet to be announced.
  • 4. Best Stack Forward
    Any player that makes it to the end of a Day 1 with a stack is allowed to take part in additional Day 1s if they want to, providing they have not exceeded the maximum number of re-entries.
    However, if a player finishes multiple Day 1s with chips, only the highest chip stack will go to Day 2.
  • 5. Take Advantage of Bubble Protection
    GGPoker's popular Bubble Protection is available throughout the WSOP Online. It's available for all non-phase events with buy-ins less than $999. This means that if you register before the start of play and go on to bubble the tournament, you'll receive your buy-in back.

Koon Doubles; Jiang and Stokkan on the Rail

Niveau 22 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Koon doubles through Chabra
Koon doubles through Chabra

Recep "Rony34" Aydemir doubled through Sosia "Aunty_Ninja" Jiang when he held up with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} versus {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} on a board of {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, which sent Jiang on a severe short stack.

Up next, Jason Koon raised to 26,400 and was called by Ajay "Ross_Geller" Chabra in the big blind. On the {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Chabra check-raised from 28,320 to 88,800 and called the shove of Koon for 306,539 total.

Jason Koon: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Ajay "Ross_Geller" Chabra: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

Koon had two overcards and the flush draw. He bricked the {7-Diamonds} turn but the {7-Hearts} river provided the flush and big double.

Fast forward a few moments and Jiang shoved from the hijack and Preben Stokkan did so with a bigger stack only for Sami "YrttiDekaani" Kelopuro to move all-in over the top.

Sosia "Aunty_Ninja" Jiang: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Preben Stokkan: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Sami "YrttiDekaani" Kelopuro: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Jiang already waved goodbye before the showdown started and almost got there with a straight on the {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts} board. However, kings held up and Kelopuro claimed a double knockout.
