A Nice Pot for Iowa's Tim "Timmy2bet" Garles

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Tim Garles
Tim Garles

Last October at the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana in the Louisville area, more than a dozen gold ring events took place. In Event #9: $400 No-Limit Hold’em, 123 entries created a $40,590 prize pool. Poker grinder Tim Garles from Des Moines, Iowa began day 2 as the chip leader and stayed there on his way to victory.

“I have been working really hard, my coach is Jeff Fielder,” Garles said after his win. “I definitely have to thank him.”

He added: “I am just going to keep playing tournaments.”

All told, Garles has $85,782 in lifetime live tournament earnings including second in the 2019 WSOPC Bicycle Casino $400 NLH Double Stack for $10,860 and third in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Holiday Poker Classic for $9,944.

Garles, who hails from Iowa, just jumped into action today under the screen name "Timmy2bet" and is looking to compliment his ring win with a shiny gold bracelet. He was kind enough to share with us some shots from his AirBnB grind station.

In a recent hand, Garles limped from the hijack only to see Mark "NostraDonkus" Liedtke raise to 550 from the cutoff. "Alluck" called from the button, as did Eric "Stackattack5" Salazar from the big blind, and Garles called to make it four-way action to the {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Spades} flop.

All four players checked and then three more checks followed on the {4-Hearts} turn. "Alluck" took the opportunity to bet 1,150 and only Garles called to see the {2-Hearts} river.

Garles check-called a bet of 4,600 and "Alluck" showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, which was no good as Garles had a boat with his {4-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Kuhn Doubles Through Gross

Robert Kuhn
Robert Kuhn

Robert "bustinballs" Kuhn opened under the gun for 437 and was called by Jacob "Bandit275" Powers from middle position before Steve "Gborooo" Gross three-bet to 1,874.

Action folded back to Kuhn who four-bet to 6,203 and only Gross called to see a {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop.

Gross lead out for 9,740 and Kuhn snapped off his last 3,694.

Steve "Gborooo" Gross: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Robert "bustinballs" Kuhn: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Kuhn was way ahead after flopping top set but had a sweat after the {q-Diamonds} turn gave Gross a broadway draw.

Luckily for Kuhn, another lady followed on the river {q-Spades} improving his hand to a full house and securing his double-up.

A "pure__reason" to Rebuy

Niveau 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Brian "pure__reason" Wood was down to just 1,290 when he raised to 350 under the gun. Tyler "DumbRam" Patterson called from the lojack, Justin "LappyPoker" Lapka came along from the big blind, and the flop came down {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Lapka checked, Wood moved in for 940, and Patterson called. Lapka then check-raised to 4,860 and Patterson got out of the way.

Brian "pure__reason" Wood: {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Justin "LappyPoker" Lapka: {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Both players had flopped two pair but Wood's tens and sixes were best. The {5-Spades} turn changed nothing but the {j-Clubs} river did as Lapka made jacks and tens to win the pot.

Wood was felted on the hand but opted to rebuy for $1,000 to reload back up to the 20,000 starting stack.
