"Vin_Gambini" Doubles Near the Bubble

Niveau 20 : 1,400/2,800, 350 ante

As the money bubble nears, "Vin_Gambini" moved all in for 49,353 from the hijack and Jamie "DanBilzerian" Kerstetter called from the big blind.

"Vin_Gambini": {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Jamie "DanBilzerian" Kerstetter: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop gave Kerstetter a set but it also gave "Vin_Gambini" a straight and open-ended straight flush draw. Kerstetter was looking to pair the board to score the elimination, but that didn't happen as the {3-Diamonds} bricked on the turn followed by the {8-Hearts} on the river.

WSOP History: Looking Back at the November (and October) Nines

2014 WSOP November Nine
2014 WSOP November Nine

No stage in poker stood as a bigger goal for a tournament player than the final table of the WSOP Main Event. For years, that meant going to sleep knowing you had the chance of a lifetime, to go down in poker history in the next few days as the cameras captured your every bet, raise and fold.

All of that changed in 2008.

The year after Jerry Yang's Main Event victory was broadcast to all on ESPN's standard tape delay, organizers made a decision to try to increase the excitement and anticipation around the final table: after the final nine was reached, play would be paused. At that point, everyone left would go home with 9th-place money and the players would reconvene a few months later to play out the final table on a short tape delay.

That lasted until 2016, and this is the history of the November (and October) Nines.

Katie "azulciel" Stone is back in New Jersey and today fired up her first event of the 2020 World Series of Poker online series. She's doing well and sitting in a good spot to nab her first cash.

Stone, who is no stranger to online poker as a BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro, has more than $176K in lifetime live tournament earnings including a career-bet $33,305 for finishing 378th in the 2018 WSOP Main Event. In addition, Stone has three Borgata Open titles including the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepest Stack for $19,337, 2017 Borgata Summer Poker Open $300 Ladies Event for $2,867, and 2017 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepstack for $9,484. She also recently won the CSOP Borgata Winter Poker Open Event back in January.

However, where Stone has really thrived is online where she’s amassed more than $900K in lifetime earnings. She's got a good chance to add to that here today.

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Action on the table folded around to Layne "scoop87" Flack who raised all in for 69,030 from the small blind and Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu snapped-off his 26,563 stack from the big blind.

Layne "scoop87" Flack: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Flack was ahead with his pocket sevens and nothing changed after the {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop but Negreanu did add more outs drawing to broadway.

The {6-Hearts} turn didn't change a thing but the {j-Hearts} river completed completed broadway for Negreanu and secured his double-up.
