Bracelet n°2 pour Nathan Gamble, vianqueur du WSOP PLO8 Event #6 pour 89.424$

Niveau 34 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Nathan Gamble
Nathan Gamble

On Monday night, the 2020 World Series of Poker Online Event #6: $600 PLO8 Six-Max attracted 883 entries, which resulted in a $449,820 prize pool. It marked the first non-hold’em event on the 2020 WSOP schedule, and after more than 12 hours of play it was Nathan "surfbum" Gamble coming out on top to win an $89,424.21 top prize and his second career bracelet.

Gamble, an army veteran (active duty 2013-16) who hails from North Richland Hills, Texas, won his first gold bracelet back in 2017 when he topped an 830-entry field to win the WSOP Event #46: $1,500 PLO8 for $223,339. It’s a game in which he has plenty of experience.

"I started playing [poker] when I was 13, so poker has always been a big part of me," he said in 2017 after his first WSOP win. "I think it's just about maintaining a balanced life. I got engaged recently and been living in Hawaii and it's just having the ability to realize that poker isn't everything. It's the people around you. It's about everywhere you end up in life that you are able to make a difference at. So, hopefully I can make a difference after this."

Gamble gave his first bracelet to his father, who always supported his poker endeavors. Only time will tell where the second one will go.

After “nyr9414” exited as the bubble bout in 127th place, the in-the-money eliminations came at a steady pace and included David “Twizzlers” Prociak (122nd - $899.64), Jared “darrensrabbi” Jaffee (96th - $944.62), Daniel “DNegs” Negreanu (59th - $1,304.47), Andrew “randylerch2” Kelsall (43rd - $1,754.29), Chance “BingShui” Kornuth (39th - $1,754.29), Mike “The Mouth” Matusow (37th - $1,754.29), Ali “sasukeuchiha” Imsirovic (26th - $2,518.99), Max “MaxSparrow” Pescatori (10th - $4,813.07), Jeremy “Chipchecka” Ausmus (8th - $9,096.76), and Ryan “Flipflip” Lenaghan (7th - $10,750.69).

Simon “bagelbites” Lam, who has cashed in five of six events thus far in the series, was the first final table casualty after getting it in with kings down on a queen-high flop only to have “danish01” turn the winner when an ace spiked, giving him both a pair of aces for the high and a low.

“SSJTimmy” was the next to go in a three-way pot where he ended up with two pair only to see “hansdigalo” roller over trip eights, and then “handsdigalo” wound up followed him out the door in fourth place getting it in on a high flop with aces only to see Gamble roll over two pair, which held on the turn and river.

After “rainman3817” bowed out in third place – the result of getting it in on the turn with a straight only to see Gamble table a flush – the heads-up match was set with Gamble holding an 8:1 Chip lead over “danish01.”

Despite the disparity it proved to be a back-and-forth affair with “danish01” even taking over the chip lead at one point. However, Gamble battled back and managed to seal the deal in a big all-in preflop hand. “danish01” had gotten it in with kings and queens while Gamble had both high and low options. Gamble would up making a seven-high straight and that was good enough to earn him his second WSOP bracelet.

The next tournament on the schedule – Event #7: $800 NLH Knockout Deepstack– will take place at 3 p.m. PDT on Tuesday. The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will once again be reporting all the action, so be sure to tune in then to see who captures the next 2020 WSOP bracelet!

Shane "danish01" Daniels opened for 600,000, Nathan "surfbum" Gamble three-bet to 1,800,000 and then called Daniels 3,368,864 four-bet jam.

The {5-Diamonds} turn paired Gamble but it was the {4-Diamonds} river that sealed the deal as it completed his staright and elimainted Daniels in second place.
