Eric Kurtzman

One hand after losing the big pot to Anthony Zinno, Eric Kurtzman raised, Brian Rast three-bet from the cutoff, and Kurtzman re-raised.

Rast called and they saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Kurtzman bet and Rast called. They both checked the {a-Diamonds} turn before Kurtzman bet the {5-Diamonds} river.

Rast flicked in a call but mucked when Kurtzman showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair on the turn to climb back over 500,000.

Rast Rising

Niveau 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

After raising in early position and picking up a call from Christopher Chung in middle position, Rast led all three streets on a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades} board.

Chung was confident in calling until the river, where he took some time to consider another call, exclaiming "what a river card". He ultimately folded, and Rast was awarded the pot.

On the following hand Rast raised in first position and took down the blinds.

The two-time $50,000 Poker Players Champion's stack is now approaching 200,000.

Wasaya Bets in the Dark

Niveau 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Andony Wasaya four-bet before the flop from early position and Jeremy Ausmus called on the button.

Wasaya led out the {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and Ausmus called. The same action repeated on the {6-Spades} turn, with Wasaya betting and Ausmus calling.

Wasaya already had his bet in the middle before the dealer could turn over the {2-Diamonds} river. Ausmus laid his hand down and dropped under 100,000.

Somerville Shows Aggression in Back-to-Back Pots

Niveau 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Jason Somerville
Jason Somerville

Jason Somerville has just taken down two consecutive pots to climb up to around 300,000.

In the first, he raised pre-flop and John Monnette defended his big blind. Somerville bet the {7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and Monnette called.

Both players checked the {7-Spades} turn. On the {j-Diamonds} river, Monnette led out with a bet and Somerville raised. That won him the pot as Monnette folded.

The next hand, Jeremy Ausmus raised and Somerville three-bet from the next seat. Ausmus called and they saw a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Action checked through to the {2-Hearts} turn, when Ausmus bet and Somerville put in a raise. Ausmus folded to send another pot in Somerville's direction.
