Glaser Back in Business

Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

Benny Glaser started the day as one of the shortest stacks in the room with just 49,000, but he's quickly run his stack up to a healthy 200,000+.

He did give up a few chips recently in a small pot, when he couldn't beat his opponent's pair of deuces, but considering where he was to start the day, it was a small price to pay.

Hellmuth Triples Up

Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth was down to his last 10,000 and got them all in pre-flop from the cutoff. Big blind Casey McCarrel called, as did original raiser Scott Tuttle from the cutoff.

McCarrel and Tuttle built a side pot on the {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}, with McCarrel check-calling a bet. On the {8-Diamonds} turn, McCarrel took the lead with a bet and Tuttle folded.

"Ace-jack," Hellmuth said as he turned over {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for top pair. McCarrel had {j-Spades}{2-Spades} for the same pair but worse kicker. The river came the {10-Spades} and Hellmuth tripled up, while McCarrel took the side pot.

Zinno adds through Dehkharghani

With multiple bets in the middle on a board of {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Anthony Zinno raised a bet from Ray Dehkharghani.

After some thought, Dehkharghani flicked in a call and saw {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} turned over by Zinno to win the pot.

With the win, Zinno has crossed the 200,000 chip mark early in the day.

Becker Busts Seidel

Erik Seidel couldn't spin up his short stack and was eliminated in a hand versus Johannes Becker.

According to Becker, Seidel check-raised a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-}, and Becker put him in for the rest of his chips.

Erik Seidel: {j-}{10-}
Johannes Becker: {k-Clubs}{k-}

The turn {q-Clubs} and river {3-Clubs} gave Becker a king-high flush and sent Seidel to the rail early.

Glantz Gone Quickly

Matt Glantz took his seat at the start of the day, but his tournament lasted only 20 minutes into Level 1.

Glantz was all in with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} of Jerry Wong on a board of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Wong's kings were good, and Glantz hit the rail early.

Hellmuth Drops a Pot

Phil Hellmuth was a late entrant to the field at the start of Day 2 but has already taken a hit to his stack.

Hellmuth and Daham Wang each put in bets on a board of {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. At showdown, Wang turned up {a-}{5-} for trip aces, while Hellmuth had {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for two pair that was beaten on the river.

Marsico Takes From Zinno

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Anthony Marsico bet from the small blind and Anthony Zinno came along from the button. Marsico kept betting on the {6-Clubs} turn, and again Zinno called.

Marsico led out for the third time when the river fell {3-Hearts} and Zinno laid his hand down.

Kurtzman Starts Off Strong

Eric Kurtzman brought the chip lead into Day 2 and hasn't stopped accumulating chips.

On one of the first hands of the day, Kurtzman and Terrence Chan each put in 16,000 before the flop. Kurtzman bet the {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop and Chan called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} turn before Kurtzman bet on the {3-Diamonds} river. Chan folded this time.
