Gabriel Ramos
Gabriel Ramos

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Gabriel Ramos, who has become quite the popular figure around the Rio with his adorable Sheba dogs, just eliminated Matthew Jewett.

All the money went in on a flop of {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, and Ramos held the {4-Spades}{5-Spades} for a straight flush which scooped the pot and sent Jewette to the payout desk.

Salazar Quarters Zhang

Niveau 21

With 69,000 in the pot and {2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} on the board, Mike Zhang bet 28,000 from middle position. Hernan Salazar bet the pot for 125,000 from the next seat over. Zhang went into the tank while some confusion was settled over the size of pot before he ultimately called.

The turn was {k-Hearts} and both players checked. The river was {8-Hearts}.

Zhang shoved on the river and Salazar called for around 100,000. Zhang turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Salazar showed {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} to take the high pot with nines and eights while the players split the low pot with ace-three.

Laplante Rebuilding

Niveau 21
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Ryan Laplante recently lost a pot that dropped his stack to just over 200,000 chips, but he just got a chunk of it back.

On a turn board of {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}, Laplante's opponent check-called a bet of 20,000.

On the river {2-Hearts}, the opponent again checked to Laplante who bet 75,000.

This time Laplante's opponent folded, awarding Laplante a nice-sized pot.
