Welcome to Day 1 of Event #32: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.
Event #32 marks the third H.O.R.S.E event of the 2021 World Series of Poker, following wins by Jesse Klein in the $25,000 buy-in and Anthony Zinno taking down the $1,500 tournament.

H.O.R.S.E. features an even rotation between Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-Better, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8-or-Better. The rules for each of these games can be found here.

The event is set to begin at 3 p.m. local time. Players will start with 40,000 in chips and play ten 60-minute levels. Fifteen-minute breaks are scheduled after every two levels and late registration will be available through the first eight levels (approximately midnight local time).

Back in 2019, Denis Strebkov defeated a field of 301 players to take home his first gold bracelet.

Limit Hold'em

Shortly before the level change, James Woods chipped up a little. After a flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, Woods bet from middle position and was called before the {4-Hearts} turn. The action repeated to the {4-Spades} river, where Woods fired one last time and was called again. Woods showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} to take the pot and add to his stack.

John Esposito

John Esposito called the PokerNews live reporting team over to his table to report that he had played the wrong game, but he won the pot anyways.

"I was playing 8-or-better!"

The game was Seven Card Stud.

Another observer said that Esposito had {7-}{5-}{3-} and made nines and fives.

According to Esposito, an "Uncle Johnny" chant broke out when he dragged the pot.

Razz

With over 10,000 in the pot, Mike Matusow was on seventh street with an opponent to his left.

Matusow bet 2,000 and his opponent raised. Matusow was not happy about it but he called.

Matusow had {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} but his opponent turned over a better {6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}{a-}. Matusow's cards went briskly into the muck as his opponent took the pot.

Matusow is sharing a table with Allen Kessler, who posted this about the hand:
