Chung Wins With Flush and Shunikov Hits Rail

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Dmitry Shunikov got his last 8,000 chips in after squeaking into the money. Christopher Chung and Mike Matusow were also in the hand.

A sizeable side pot had been created by the river between Chung and Matusow on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board.

Dmitry Shunikov: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Christopher Chung: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Mike Matusow: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Chung took the main pot and the fairly large side pot while Shunikov hit the rail with a min-cash.

Melgaard Eliminated on the Bubble

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The action folded to Justin Moeller in the small blind who limped in. Evan Melgaard raised from the big blind and Moeller called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Moeller checked to Melgaard who bet. Moeller check-raised and Melgaard three-bet, followed by a four-bet from Moeller. Melgaard was all in and at risk for 26,000, leaving just 10,000 chips in front of Moeller.

Evan Melgaard: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Justin Moeller: {j-Spades}{6-Spades}

Moeller flopped top pair but Melgaard still had a few outs in the deck. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Spades} did not help Melgaard who stormed through the Amazon doors after being eliminated on the bubble.

At another table, Dmitry Shunikov was left with just 8,000 chips and found a way to make it into the money.

Schulman Finds Value on the River

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Nick Schulman raised on the button and Evan Melgaard defended from the big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Melgaard checked to Schulman who continued with a bet. Melgaard check-raised and Schulman called.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Melgaard tossed in a bet which Schulman called. The {4-Diamonds} paired the board on the river and Melgaard slowed down with a check. Schulman threw in a bet and Melgaard looked him up. Schulman flipped over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and that was enough to beat Melgaard's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Hansen Turns Set to Take From McKeehen

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Joe McKeehen raised from the hijack, Ryan Hansen reraised from the button and Zack called in the big blind, as did McKeehen.

The {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop was checked through.

On the {9-Clubs} turn, Zack bet, McKeehen raised, Hansen reraised, and only McKeehen called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} river and Hansen showed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to take the pot while McKeehen said he mucked ace-nine.

Hoang Among the Leaders

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Justin Moeller raised from the cutoff and was called by John Hoang and Dirk Wenkemann in the blinds. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {2-Spades} on the turn.

Hoang checked again and Wenkemann threw in a bet. Moeller folded but Hoang check-raised which Wenkemann called. The river was the {9-Spades} and Hoang quickly threw in a bet. Wenkemann thought for a minute but decided to lay his hand down.

Steinbach Doubles Through Deng

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

With a board of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, Kris Steinbach got the rest of his shorter stack in on the turn against Ken Deng.

Kris Steinbach: {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Ken Deng: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Steinbach turned the nuts and had Deng drawing dead. A meaningless card completed the board and Steinbach doubled.

Up and Down for Zack

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

JJ Liu raised from the cutoff and Daniel Zack defended from the big blind. The flop came {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Zack check-raised only to have Liu stick in a three-bet. Zack called and the {6-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Zack led out this time and Liu just called to see the {10-Hearts} on the river. Both players checked and Zack tabled {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to win the hand.

On the next hand, Mike Matusow raised on the button and Zack three-bet from the small blind. Matusow called and the flop came {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Zack led out and Matusow raised which Zack called.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and Zack check-called another bet from Matusow. The {7-Spades} completed the board and Zack checked again. Matusow fired one more time and Zack went into the tank for a minute before calling. Matusow showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} to take down the pot.

Matusow Loses Chips to Hansen Then Gains Some Back

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow defended his big blind when Ryan Hansen raised the small blind.

There was a bet and a call on the {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop.

The {5-Spades} turn saw a check-call from Hansen, and so did the {10-Hearts} river.

Hansen showed {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} which was good as Matusow mucked.

On the next hand, Matusow gained back a lot of chips from another player when he held kings and action got to the river before his opponent folded.
