Zack Busted by Lennon

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,500, 3,500 ante

Jeff Lennon opened to 6,500 in the cutoff and action folded to Dan Zack in the big blind, who placed his last 52,000 into the middle. Lennon called.

Zack stood pat and Lennon tanked for some time before also deciding to stand pat.

"You win," Zack said as he fanned out {j-}{10-}{8-}{6-}{3-}. Zack was correct, as Lennon held {10-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{3-} — which was enough to eliminate Zack from the tournament.

Hellmuth Out Again

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,500, 3,500 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth shoved from the small blind for around 14,000 and Darren Elias called from the button.

Phil Hellmuth: {10-}{4-}{3-}{2-} / {x-}
Darren Elias: {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-} / {x-}

Both players drew one card. Elias peeled first and saw a {2-}, rendering Hellmuth's card powerless to win the hand. It was {9-} anyways, and Hellmuth headed for the door.

Gorodinsky Shoves

Niveau 9 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

With three-way action and around 50,000 in the pot, Ryan Leng stood pat while Benny Glaser and Mike Gorodinsky each drew one card.

Glaser checked after the draw and Gorodinsky shoved more than 90,000 into the middle. Leng folded quickly and Glaser thought it over for a moment before getting away. Gorodinsky's shove earned him a big pot to chip up above 150K.

Faris Shows a Bluff; Collects 16 Dollars

Niveau 9 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante
Joshua "Kenji" Faris
Joshua "Kenji" Faris

Ryan Riess opened to 5,000 from the lojack and was three-bet to 20,000 by Joshua Faris in the small blind. Riess called.

Both players stood pat and Faris slid out a stack of 5k-denomination chips, which was enough to put Ryan Riess all in for his last 44,000.

Riess went deep into the tank and eventually let his hand go.

"Twenty dollars to show," Faris proposed to Riess, who agreed.

Faris tabled {7-}{7-}{5-}{5-}{8-}.

"Nice hand," Riess replied. "I had a nine."

Riess then reached into his wallet and handed Faris a ten-dollar bill, a five-dollar bill, and a one-dollar bill.

"It's all I have," Riess said as he handed it to Faris.

Frank Kassela raised to 6,000 from under the gun and Wil Wilkinson called. David "ODB" Baker three-bet to 35,000 and Kassela four-bet jammed for around 65,000. Wilkinson got out of the way and Baker called with Kassela covered.

Frank Kassela: {8-}{7-}{4-}{2-} / {x-}
David "ODB" Baker: {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}

Baker stood pat and Kassela drew one, but he was drawing dead. It was an {8-} and Kassela hit the rail.

Over 100 Entrants

Niveau 9 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

The field is now up to 101 entrants, which is a surprising increase over the 91 that entered this event in 2019 given the overall reduction in field size throughout this year's World Series of Poker.

Registration will remain open until the beginning of play on Day 2.
