Welcome to Day 1 of Event #65: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship
Action continues today at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino with the next championship event of the 2021 World Series of Poker. The fourth edition of Event #65: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship begins as this exciting big bet, split pot game is expected to attract many of the biggest mixed-game players in the poker world.
The defending champion is Nick Schulman, who topped a field of 193 entries back in 2019 to win his third career bracelet and the first-place prize of $463,670.

Three Omaha Hi-Lo bracelets have already been awarded this fall, including Ari Engel earning the second of his career by taking down Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship. Connor Drinan also earned his second WSOP gold bracelet in Event #5: $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better, and Dylan Linde captured Event #21: $1,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
The action is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. local time and conclude after ten levels of play. Each level lasts 60 minutes, with 15-minute breaks after every two levels. Players begin with 60,000 chips, and late registration will remain open until the start of Day two.

After a limp from the cutoff, Charles Sinn raised to 900 on the button and the cutoff called. They went heads-up to a flop of 
and the action checked to Sinn who threw in a bet of 1,500. His opponent called and the 
landed on the turn.
The action checked to Sinn again and he made another bet of 4,000. His opponent stuck around to see the

Yockey Sits Down and Wins a Pot

Bryce Yockey just took his seat along with a few others and he wasted little time getting in on the action. Yockey opened to 700 from under the gun and was called by the hijack. The flop came 
and Yockey check-called a bet of 700 from his opponent.
The turn brought the

Deeb Forces a Fold on the River

After a raise to 700, from early position, Shaun Deeb stuck in a three-bet to 2,100 in the cutoff. The action folded back to the initial raiser who called. The flop fell 
and the action checked to Deeb who continued for 2,000. His opponent called and the 
hit the turn.
The action checked to Deeb again and he fired in another bet of 4,500. His opponent still called and the completed the board. Deeb tossed in one more bet of 10,000 and his opponent finally laid his hand down.
