A-5 Triple Draw

WSOP bracelet winner Galen Hall admits he had never played A-5 or Badugi before this tournament, but that hasn't stopped him from climbing to the top of the leaderboard.

On his last hand, Hall, Lylan Do, Luis Velador, and Max Kruse went four-ways to the first draw. Hall took three, while his opponents all took two.

Everyone checked and took two on the second draw. Action checked to Kruse on the button who bet and only Hall called.

Both players took one and Hall led out. Kruse called but mucked when Hall showed {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} to take the pot from the soccer star.

Smith stood pat on the first two draws, with Faris taking two each time. Faris called after the first draw.

When Smith bet again on the second draw, Faris again pointed up. "Going higher," he said.

Smith took one last look back at his cards before mucking.

At the same table, Bariscan Betil has built a chip lead-contending stack.

Badugi

Frank Kassela re-raised before the draw and both Daniel Strelitz and Shaun Deeb came along.

Kassela stood pat and both opponents called. Only Strelitz called after the second draw, taking one while Kassela again stood pat.

The 2010 Player of the Year patted again on the final draw and Strelitz took one more. Kassela slowed down and checked, then called when Strelitz bet.

"Six," Strelitz announced, turning over {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

"Wow," Kasslea said, flashing an eight Badugi before mucking.

"Wow. Sick four-outer there," he repeated after the hand was over, still shaking his head over Strelitz's fortunate draw.
