David Peters remporte son 4e bracelet WSOP et dépasse les 40 millions de gains en carrière

David Peters a mis un peu moins de 90 minutes pour raser le Final Day de l'Event #WSOP Bounty High Roller à 100 000$ l'entrée. L'Américain a réglé Chance Kornuth à l'issue d'un duel rapide puisque la finale s'est étalée sur 26 mains! De quoi empocher son 4e bracelet WSOP et un chèque de 1 166 810$.
Une somme qui ne prend pas en compte les primes de 25 000$ engrangées durant le tournoi à chaque victime. L'ancien n°1 du classement GPI a laissé Chance Kornuth terminer le vainqueur Main Event WSOP 2021 Koray Aldemir, avant d'éliminer ses 3 derniers adversaires pour déjà 75 000$ de bonus sur ce Jour 3.
Shortstack avec 9 blindes à la reprise, Koray Aldemir a sauté sur la première main du Final Day. Dix minutes plus tard Ali Imsirovic était mis KO par les 
du futur vainqueur.
Le plan a 3 a lui duré près de 40 minutes, le runner-up Main Event WSOP Dario Sammartino ne parvenant pas à se relancer. L'Italien a tout mis avec un As pour s'empaler sur les 
du futur champion, son podium lui offre un demi-million de dollars. De quoi jouer une tonne de tournois sans pression.
Avec encore 11 des 28 millions en jeu et de la profondeur, Chance Kornuth comptait bien se battre longuement. Une rencontre paire contre paire a abrégé le duel puisque Kornuth a 5-bet shove 100 blindes dans une premium! Les 
du récent champion WPT n'ont pas fait le poids face aux Rois de David Peters, intenable toute au long d'une soirée disputée sous l'oeil des caméras de PokerGO.
"C'est une sensation géniale de gagner le premier tournoi des Séries, le premier hors du Rio. C'est un tournoi prestigieux, il y avait tellement de grands joueurs", a indiqué Peters avant de poursuivre. "Obtenir ce 4e succès c'est énorme, il n'y a pas tellement de gens qui ont accompli cela, c'est vraiment un très très bon début de WSOP", s'est réjouit le champion
"C'est toujours sympa de gagner contre un mec chaud (Kornuth vient de gagner le WPT Choctaw, ndlr) qui est un grand joueur. Ce n'était pas exactement la plus longue bataille head's up mais c'est toujours bon de battre ce genre de joueur", a conclu Peters en assurant l'assistance de son envie de jouer une tonne d'événements durant l'été.

David Peters passe les 40 millions de dollars de gains en live et signe son premier succès de 2022. Il en profite pour piquer sa 5e place à Erik Seidel (39,7 millions en carrière, ndlr) à la All Time Money List!
Peters avait remporté son premier bracelet en 2016 à l'occasion d'un 1500$ No Limit pour 412 557$. Ses deux autres breloques ont été conquises online puisqu'il a remporté le WSOP HU Championship 10 000$ en août 2020 pour 360 480$ puis le Lucky 7's High Roller ONLINE à 7.777$ en juillet 2021 (283 940$)...

David Peters opened to 460,000 on the button and Chance Kornuth three-bet to 1,800,000 out of the big blind. Peters responded with a four-bet to 3,900,000 only to see Kornuth move all in for 12,000,000. Peters snapped it off to put Kornuth at risk.

Peters was in prime position to eliminate Kornuth and capture the gold bracelet but the 
flop did give Kornuth an open ended straight draw. The 
turn and 
river brought no further help to the start of Day 3 chipleader, however, forcing him to settle for 2nd place and a $721,144 consolation prize.
Peters, meanwhile, walks away with $1,166,810 and his fourth WSOP bracelet.

Chance Kornuth folded his button to send the action to David Peters in the small blind who decided to call. Dario Sammartino checked his option out of the big blind to send both players to the flop.
Peters led out on the 
flop and after some consideration Sammartino called.
The 
turn put three spades on the board and Peters checked to Sammartino who bet 275,000. Peters called.
The 
river both paired and put four spades on the board. Neither player was willing to put any more chips in the pot and Sammartino showed 
for the flush, strong enough to add some chips to his relatively short stack.
