Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver was found all in preflop in a confrontation again with Jesse Lonis, who had him covered for the following showdown:

Scott Seiver: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Jesse Lonis: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Seiver was in terrible shape for the double up and found no miracle on a {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs} board to be eliminated from the tournament.

Schreiber Gets Back-to-Back Wins

Niveau 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

The hijack position limped into the pot and Matthew Schreiber in the cutoff raised. Action came back around to the hijack who called. The flop came down {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and the hijack check-called Schreiber's bet.

The turn came a {6-Spades} and the hijack check-folded to Schreiber's bet, and the latter won the pot without showing his hand.

On the very next hand, Schreiber raised preflop and got re-raised by the button and called. The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Schreiber checked. The button bet and received a call.

An {8-Spades} came on the turn and both players checked.

The river was a {2-Diamonds} which Schreiber bet, the button called and Schreiber flipped over {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to show the flush he hit on the river while his opponent tossed his cards into the muck.

Day 1 of Event #23: $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-Handed has just ended and saw a total of 213 players take to the felt. After ten hour-long levels of play, 93 remain, with Daniel Vampan leading the charge after bagging 217,500 chips, closely followed by Japanese player Ruiko Mamiya with 207,000.

Vampan has racked up seven total cashes thus far in World Series of Poker events. He is still seeking to catch his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet and surpass his biggest WSOP money prize when he finished in 69th place in the 2018 $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MILLIONAIRE MAKER for $14,944.

The defending champion, Ryan Hansen, also managed to find a bag at the end of the day with 64,500 in chips and is ready to battle for his title tomorrow.

Other notables to look out for on Day 2 include five-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb (107,000), Matt Woodward (102,500), Matthew Schreiber (95,000), Christina Hill (90,500), Robert Campbell (76,000) and Argentinian player Nacho Barbero with a short stack of 39,000.

Some unfortunate players to bust out here on Day 1 included Main Event Champion Joe MacKeehen, Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow, David Baker, Nick Schulman and four-time bracelet winner Anthony Zinno. Six-time WSOP winner Daniel Negreanu and four-time WSOP champion Scott Seiver joined the field at the very end of the late registration but busted in less than 40 minutes of play.

The tournament director announced a total prize pool of $568,710 at the end of the day, with a top prize of $142,147 for the winner along with a prestigious bracelet. A total of 32 players will reach the money on Day 2, with a min-cash worth $4,939.

The action resumes at 2 p.m. PT on Sunday inside Bally’s, where the players will continue to battle for the gold. Blinds will begin at 1,500/2,500, and the plan is to complete ten levels, with a 15-minute break every two levels.
