Final Day of the Highly Esteemed H.O.R.S.E. Championship Set

Andrew Yeh
Andrew Yeh

Welcome to the final day of Event #44: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship here at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. After three full days of play, only five players remain in the hunt for the esteemed mixed-game gold bracelet.

Andrew Yeh leads the pack and seeks his maiden bracelet. Yeh is a Las Vegas local who already has three cashes at this year's series, but this is already the biggest of his summer. He looks to claim the impressive $487,129 that awaits the champion at the end of the day.

The button will be on Craig Chait and there are five hands left in Omaha Hi-Lo

Among those that stand in Yeh's way is the Day 1 chip leader, Philip Long. From London, Long is no stranger to big moments at mixed-game final tables. He won the $1,500 Eight Game Mix in 2018 at the 49th Annual World Series of Poker.

Those watching the stream will see two opposite table personalities in Craig Chait and John Racener. A tablemate noted Racener is, "a man of very few words" at the table, Racener let the cards do his talking on the way to the final table. Chait, on the other hand, was joking throughout the day, sharing stories, and provided the entertainment so often associated with mixed games.

Rounding out the final five is none other than Bryce Yockey. With nearly three million in tournament earnings according to Hendon Mob, Yockey placed fourth in this same event at last year's series. With stunning back-to-back final table showings, Yockey looks to improve on that run and eyes the first-place spot this time around.

Chait Wins Showdown Pot Against Yockey

Niveau 24 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Bryce Yockey won one of the first pots of the final day when he flopped the world and found no resistance. He then defended the {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} against a raise by Craig Chait and check-called a bet on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} flop when Chait continued with the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Both checked the {10-Spades} on the turn and Yockey bluffed the {6-Hearts} river with a bet. Chait called after a few seconds and raked in the pot.

John Racener Gets Three Quarters

Omaha Hi-Lo

John Racener raised {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} as first to act and picked up two callers, Bryce Yockey with {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} from the small blind and Craig Chait with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} from the big blind.

The flop showed up {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}, giving everyone a piece. Racener continued with his gutshot and low draw and both Yockey and Chait called.

The {6-Diamonds} came in on the turn and all three players checked.

The river {8-Diamonds} produced the low that both Racener and Chait shared. Action checked to Racener who hit his gutshot and made the straight, so he bet.

Yockey thought about it with his pair of eights, but he let it go. Chait made the call to get one quarter of the pot and Racener got the rest.

Niveau 24 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Bryce Yockey raised with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and was called by John Racener in the big blind with the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. They checked the {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Racener check-called the {6-Clubs} turn. On the {a-Spades} river, Yockey improved and Racener suddenly had zero percent equity.

Racener checked and Yockey bet to win the pot uncontested.

John Racener: {a-}{8-}/{2-}{6-}{8-}
Philip Long: {4-}{5-}/{8-}

John Racener completed showing his deuce, Long folded the bring in before Andrew Yeh put in two bets. Chait made the call.

Racener hit the better card with a six on fourth and took the lead with a bet, Yeh came along.

On fifth, Racener paired his eight, unbeknownst to Yeh who hit a good-looking ace. Racener bet once more, but Yeh let his hand go before paying off any big bets.
