Event #77: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start today at the 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

Last year's iteration of this event saw Motoyoshi Okamura of Japan emerge victorious, defeating a field of 846 players to take home his first career WSOP bracelet and the top cash prize of $209,716. He defeated Brazil's Rafael Mota in heads-up play to secure the title. Other notable deep runs included those of Ryan Laplante (35th, $5,507) and Josh Arieh (40th, $5,507).

Players will begin the day with 25,000 chips, with blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Levels will last 40 minutes today, before increasing to 60 minutes on Days 2 and 3. There will be a fifteen minute break after every third level, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 9, expected to start around 7:40 p.m. local time. Late registration will close at the end of the dinner break, at about 8:55 p.m. Players who are eliminated before registration closes are allowed two re-entries.

Fifteen levels will be played today, after which the remaining players will bag and tag their chips before returning for Day 2 on Tuesday, July 12th, for a 1:00 p.m. restart.

Ferraro Gets a Bluff Through

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up with around 1,500 in the pot and a board of {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}. The small blind led out for 500. Cole Ferraro, in the big blind, put in a raise to 1,600, and the opponent called.

They checked on the {a-Diamonds} turn, leading to the {10-Diamonds} on the river. The small blind checked to Ferraro, who fired for 7,500. The opponent went into the tank for a bit, before eventually making a reluctant laydown. Ferraro turned over {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, good for just king high. "Just another day for me. When I call they show me the nuts, when I fold they show me the bluff. Just another day," his opponent commented.

"What'd you fold?" asked a player from across the table.

"Just a bad queen," he responded, "not two pair or anything. He wouldn't get me to fold two pair."

Ferraro's bluff had worked, and he scooped the pot.

Mandel Gets a Fold on the River

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

The cutoff opened to 300 and Lloyd Mandel raised it to 800 on the button. Both the big blind and the cutoff called.

The flop fanned {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and it checked to Mandel who continued for 2,500. This time only the cutoff stayed interested and called. The duo checked on the {q-Diamonds} turn.

A {8-Diamonds} landed on the river and the cutoff checked to Mandel who sent a 5,000-chip in the middle. His opponent tanked for a minute and ended up folding. Mandel tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for the full house and his opponent said he held {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the flush.
