After seven levels of play today, a total of 13 players made it through to Day 3 of Event #79: $10,000 Razz Championship at Ballys and Paris Las Vegas. This event saw a total of 139 players register, creating a prize pool of $1,296,175 and a first place prize of $328,906.

In prime position to secure that top prize is Brandon Shack-Harris who ended up bagging chip lead with 1,152,000. Shack-Harris is no stranger to WSOP as he has two bracelets of his own and has already secured his best cash of this series guaranteed $20,746. Shack-Harris now looks to make it an even bigger cash along with another bracelet that will see him add his name to a short list of players with three WSOP bracelets.

Hot on his heels is Brian Hastings, who sits with 1,149,000. Hastings has already won his sixth WSOP bracelet this year and a win in this event will put him in serious contention for Player of the Year. With less than an ante between he and Shack-Harris, both will be in a prime position to add another bracelet to their resumes.

Their paths to glory will not be easy, as many stars of the game still remain, including Julien Martini (873,000), Chance Kornuth (707,000), Joao Vieira (677,000), David Benyamine (362,000) and WSOP Main Event winner Koray Aldemir (480,000), the latter is coming off of a 75th place finish in this year’s Main Event.

Players who were not able to finish on the right side of the money bubble included Phil Ivey, Dan Zack, defending champion Benny Glaser, Daniel Negreanu, and Phil Hellmuth.

The bubble was burst when Ray Dehkharghani could not beat the eight-seven of Hastings. After the bubble, players continued to fall, including bracelet winners Andrew Yeh (20th - $16,597), Adam Friedman (17th - $18,153), and Jason Mercier (15th - $18,153) among others.

Players will return on July 14 at 2 p.m. local time in the gold section of Ballys. Level 18 will kick off the day with a 5,000 ante, a 5,000 bring in, and limits at 20,000-40,000. Levels will last 90 minutes each and players will have 10-minute breaks after every level. Stay tuned to PokerNews for all updates regarding the WSOP.

Jason Mercier: {x-}{x-}/{7-}{7-}{q-}{3-}/{x-}
Laith Salem: {x-}{x-}/{9-}{8-}{10-}{k-}/{x-}

Shortly after doubling up, Jason Mercier would play another all in with Laith Salem with the opposite result.

Salem bet on fifth street and Mercier called. "The ten did not pair me," Salem said heading to sixth.

He bet again and Mercier called. Salem put out another bet on seventh for the rest of Mercier's chips. Mercier peeked at his last card and shot back in his chair.

He eventually made a reluctant call as Salem showed {4-}{6-}{4-} for 10-9-8-6-4. Mercier flashed {a-}{5-} before heading for the payout desk.
