The 2023 World Series of Poker welcomes a second set of combatants today for Day 1b of Event #18: Gladiators of Poker.

3,940 entrants graced the Colosseum of Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for Day 1a, with only 129 players advancing to Day 2. Notable players that failed to advance included Daniel Zack, Jon Pardy, and Robert Kuhn.

Players that did find a bag include Daniel Negreanu (2,250,000) and Ryan Depaulo (1,020,000.) They both trail Day 1a chipleader Patrick White, who bagged an impressive 3,405,000. Players joining them on Day 2 will continue to play for part of a $3,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, a WSOP bracelet, and the right to say they are the inaugural champion of this event.

Cards will be in the air at 10 a.m. local time. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips and blinds at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Players will play for 22 levels of 30 minutes each, and will receive a break every four levels. A 75-minute break is scheduled after level 15, which will come around 7:30 p.m. local time. Late registration will last until the end of level 11, and players will be allowed two reentries both today and in the remaining two Day 1s taking place Friday and Saturday.

Keep it right here as PokerNews will be providing live updates throughout the day.
