Day 2 saw 98 players return for Event #34: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2023 WSOP from The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

By day’s end, there were only 10 players remaining who will return at noon on Friday, June 16, to play down to a champion. The first-place prize of $298,192 awaits the winner, as does a coveted WSOP bracelet.

Leading the way into Day 3 is Robert Mizrachi who bagged 5,680,000. The four-time bracelet winner was present throughout the day and kept up the pressure until the end. Following close behind him is Matthew Beinner, who went on a chip stacking surge in the last level after he eliminated Day 1 Chipleader Josh Arieh with a set of aces.

Accomplished tournament player Matthew Parry rounds out the top three after bagging 4,170,000.

Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu made a deep run today but unfortunately exited in 16th place when his low suited-connecters could not hold up against Parry’s trip nines on a paired board.

Players are all guaranteed $16,028 and will return tomorrow at noon in the Horseshoe Feature Section and will resume at Level 28 with blinds at 50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 big blind ante. The final day will go on until the winner is crowned and adorned with the WSOP gold bracelet, along with a hefty cash prize.

Ryan Christopherson raised to 180,000 under the gun and Jarred Solomon jammed his last 550,000 on the button. Christopherson made the call.

Jarred Solomon: KK82
Ryan Christopherson: AA62

Solomon had run into the aces of Christopherson and the A53 flop left him drawing thin. The 7 turn was no help and the 7 river gave Christopherson a full house, sending Solomon to the payout desk in 11th place.

William Rector Eliminated in 12th Place ( $16,028)

Niveau 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
William Rector
William Rector

Matthew Beinner opened the action with a raise in late positon to 175,000 and was called by Antonin Teisseire on the button, as well as William Rector in the big blind. The dealer spread J57 and Rector checked, Beinner checked, and Teisseire placed a pot sized bet.

Rector made the call for less and Beinner got out of the way saying, "Well, I'm sure one of you had a good hand, I fold."

Cards were on their backs and Rector was at risk.

William Rector: AQ77
Antonin Teisseire: Q1098

Rector had flopped a set of sevens and Teisseire had an inside wrap. The turn converted Teisseire to the full wrap with the K. Rector requested that the dealer pair the board on the river but they didn't oblige, instead peeling the 6 which was one of the many card that made Teisseire a straight.

PokerNews had a brief moment to chat with Rector and he said he'd been coming to the WSOP since 2006. He works in real estate and usually just comes out for a couple weeks, which is the case this time as well. He has little interest in no limit hold'em and is happy playing any of the other games.

Slobodskoy Makes Nut-Flush to Double

Naor Slobodskoy

Naor Slobodskoy raised the button to 185,000 and Jarred Solomon came along in the big blind.

When the A43 flop hit, Solomon checked and Slobodskoy bet 145,000. Solomon raised the pot and while the dealer was calculating the total, Slobodskoy moved all-in for his 1,660,000, Solomon instantly called.

Naor Slobodskoy: KJ54
Jarred Solomon: A1062

The board completed with the 8 on the turn and the Q on the river, giving Slobodksoy the nut-flush as he collected his double up.

Big Check-Raise from Solomon

Niveau 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Naor Slobodskoy raised to 240,000 on the button and Jarred Solomon called in the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of 986 and both players tapped the table.

The Q hit the turn and Solomon check-raised Slobodskoy's bet of 350,000 to 1,100,000. Slobodskoy went into the tank for about a minute before releasing his hand.

"I'll show you," said Solomon as he tabled K9JJ. "I think I was ahead."

Slobodskoy claimed he had two tens.

Josh Arieh Eliminated in 13th Place ($16,028)

Niveau 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Josh Arieh raised in late position to 175,000 and was raised by Matthew Beinner on the button to 645,000. Arieh thought for a bit before declaring pot, which moved him in for just under 2,000,000. Beinner asked for a count to make sure but stuck it in after a bit.

Josh Arieh: AKQ4
Matthew Beinner: AA43

The flop came down AJ2, shooting Beinner further in front with top set. He did, however have to avoid Arieh hitting a ten. The turn was the K and the river was the J, shutting Arieh out of the tournament and out in 13th.
