Riordan Makes the Call with One Pair

Niveau 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a heads-up completed board of Q6JK4, Nathanael Kogel was first to act and he decided to bet 148,000 into the pot of around 110,000. The action was then on John Riordan to his left, who went deep in the tank.

After a good minute of deliberation, Riordan finally made the call and was shown A3 for an ace-high bluff by Kogel while he tabled AA for one pair of aces to take down the substantial pot.

Big Hands Showdown in Battle of Blinds

Niveau 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kennon Buckmaster was short stacked and she needed to make a move.

The opportunity arrived after action folded all the way to the blinds, and Buckmaster was first to act in the small blind.

She looked at her hand, and then moved all in with her last 101,000.

Craig McCorkell, who had Buckmaster covered, was in the big blind and asked for a count from the dealer, who confirmed Buckmaster’s stack. McCorkell then made the call and the cards were tabled showing a battle of premium big aces.

Kennon Buckmaster: AQ
Craig McCorkell: AK

Both players let out a nervous laugh when they saw what each other had before the dealer fanned J69 on the flop, keeping McCorkell ahead. The turn showed J and the K on the river ended Buckmaster’s tournament.

Bloomer Gets One Through

Niveau 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A player in early position raised and Caleb Bloomer three-bet to 30,000 out of the small blind.

The original raiser called and action went to the flop, which showed 9K9. Both players checked, then the action heated up on the next street when the dealer placed 10 on the board.

Bloomer led out by going all in for his remaining 89,000. His opponent asked the dealer to spread out the pot, which contained approximately 63,000, then went in the blender.

“You’ve only played three hands in the past two hours,” the opponent said.

Bloomer remained quiet and didn’t move the whole time, while his opponent took almost a full minute before folding.

Bloomer then emphatically slammed down A5 on the board, showing he had nothing but ace high.

“Damn you,” his opponent said with a chuckle.
