Laise Levels Up

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of 365, Tiffany Henize led out for 145,000 but then Vincent Laise moved all in for 375,000 total.

After some thought, Henize made the call to put him at risk and the cards were tabled.

Vincent Laise: 88
Tiffany Henize: A6

Laise was ahead at the moment with his over pair of eights, but Henize could still catch any ace, six, or running hearts to win.

Fortunately for Laise, the board ran out 3J to secure his victory for the double-up to 1,200,000.

Nikzad Cracks Pocket Aces to Triple Up

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Three players had all of their chips in the middle with Ashton Nikzad on the button with 320,000 and Karl Moris with 650,000 in the hijack at risk against Thomas Ratkovich in the cutoff who covered both players.

Ashton Nikzad: Q9
Karl Moris: A10
Thomas Ratkovich: AA

Ratkovich was in a dominant position, but the flop of 975 produced some light for Nikzad by pairing a nine.

The K turn left Moris drawing dead, but the Q river gave Nikzad two pair and completed a triple up. Moris headed to the exit and Ratkovich gathered in the 660,000 side pot.

Wong Makes Right Call

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

On a heads-up completed board of 26JJA, there was around 450,000 in the middle when Chunlung Wong led out for 50,000 from late position.

His opponent in the hijack, Lester Edoc, then announced he was all in, covering Wong.

Wong then went deep into the tank for several minutes, at which point a player called the clock on him and he was given 30 seconds to act.

As his timer reached zero, Wong made the call and was shown KQ for king-high by Edoc while he proudly turned over AQ for top two-pair.

"Wow, 100% you're never folding there!" Tablemate Frederic Normand commented, "You have top pair!"

Kharman Delivers Knockout Blow

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Adam Kharman, whose 2,500,000 stack to Day 3 was the largest at his table, raised in middle position. He watched as Daniel Blum, who began the day as a short stack, moved all in to put his tournament life on the line.

Kharman quickly called when the action made its way back to him.

Daniel Blum: 99
Adam Kharman: KJ

The dealer fanned 343 on the flop and 4 on the turn, but J arrived on the river to give Kharman the hand and send Blum to the rail.

Acosta Stays Alive

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Short-stacked Jason Acosto moved all in preflop for a little over 100,000 and was called by Andrew Brinkley to put him at risk.

Jason Acosta: KQ
Andrew Brinkley: J10

The turn of 396J gave Brinkley the lead with his pair of jacks, and the river 10 improved him to two pair, but it also gave Acosta a straight to take down the pot for a double-up.

"Nice!" Brinkley congratulated his opponent, "I only wanted one pair, not two!"
