Niveau 13
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Stephen Chidwick was all-in for 38,000 in the hijack and Hal Rotholz raised to 58,000. Freddy Deeb called in the small blind and Brian Rast forfeited his big blind. Deeb and Chidwick discarded two while Rotholz took one and the two active players checked.

The same drawing action repeated on the second draw and Deeb check-folded to a bet.

Chidwick discarded two on the final draw while Rotholz patted and the cards were exposed.

Stephen Chidwick: 7x3x2x
Hal Rotholz: 10x8x5x4x2x

Rotholz had a made ten-eight while Chidwick was drawing to the superior hand. He first flipped over the 8x before the 5x followed and the eight-seven secured the triple-up for the Brit.

End of the Road for Katz

Niveau 13
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Cary Katz was all-in with his short stack once more and faced Talal Shakerchi and Benny Glaser. Shakerchi needed one more card on the final draw while his two active opponents already exposed their cards.

Shakerchi had the 8x7x6x4x2x while Glaser's better draw had turned into a straight for his hand to be dead.

"I have an eight-six draw," Katz said as he was about to reveal his 8x6x5x4x. But while peeling, he already flashed the final card and that was an Ax as he instantly joked a "never mind" and hit the rail.

Monnette Flops Big, Gets Some Value

Niveau 13

No-Limit Hold'em

Action folded around to John Monnette in the small blind and he limped. Dan Smith then raised to 36,000 in the big blind, receiving a call from Monnette.

Both players checked through the JA2 flop to the 3 turn at which point they each checked once more. The K river completed the board, prompting Monnette to lead out for 15,000. Smith snapped it off but mucked after Monnette tabled AxJx for the two pair to scoop the pot and leave Smith relatively short.

The board ran out K10653 and Chidwick missed the nut flush draw and his one overcard to become another early casualty on Day 3. Scott Seiver has also been eliminated as well and that has reduced the field to the last 29 contenders.

Klodnicki Baffles Alaei

Niveau 13

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

After Chris Klodnicki raised in the hijack, he got a call from Daniel Alaei in the big blind.

Alaei drew three, while Klodnicki stood pat. Alaei then check-called a bet from Klodnicki and drew one, while Klodnicki remained pat.

On the next betting round, after another check from Alaei and a bet from Klodnicki, Alaei now check-raised, which after some thought, Klodnicki called.

The players now both stood pat and after Alaei checked, Klodnicki fired out another bet, which gave Alaei some pause before he elected to fold his hand and send the chips to Klodnicki.

A preflop raising war brought the chips into the middle between Hal Rotholz and Paul Volpe, with both players revealing premium pocket pairs.

Brutal Set-Over-Set Ends Berman's Tournament

Niveau 13
Lyle Berman
Lyle Berman

No-Limit Hold'em

Picking up the action after the flop, Josh Arieh in the small blind was involved in a hand with Lyle Berman on the button. With the board reading K210, Arieh led out for 60,000 only to see Berman raise to 200,000. Arieh responded by coming back over the top for 400,000. After some thought, Berman moved the rest of his stack into the middle and was quickly called by Arieh, who had the covering stack.

Lyle Berman: 1010
Josh Arieh: KK

Berman was on the wrong end of a brutal cooler and would need to get extremely lucky to survive. No help came on the 8 turn, with the A river putting the final nail in the coffin for Berman and sending a massive pot over toward Arieh.
