Aldemir on Fumes

Niveau 13
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

Omaha Hi-Lo

After Koray Aldemir raised on the button, Ray Dehkharghani made it two bets to go from the small blind. Aldemir called and they went to a flop of 2K10.

Dehkharghani bet and got a call from Aldemir, then on the 7 turn, Dehkharghani checked. Aldemir now bet and got check-raised by Dehkharghani.

Aldemir called while getting short to see the 8 on the river. He faced one more bet from Dehkharghani, then after counting down his stack which would be 50,000 left if he called and lost, made that call.

Dehkharghani showed AKK4 for a set of king and ace-four for low. Aldemir could beat neither and the meaty pot was pushed to Dehkharghani.

Volpe Doubles Through Deeb

Niveau 13
Paul Volpe
Paul Volpe

Omaha Hi-Lo

In a duel cutoff versus button, Paul Volpe and Freddy Deeb already had 100,000 chips out in front on the A93 flop and got it in after the Q turn, with Volpe at risk.

Paul Volpe: AAK8
Freddy Deeb: AJ93

"What do I need? A ten? Oh fuck, no, I can't win anything," Deeb said when he glanced at the other side of the table since Volpe had the top set and nut flush draw against his two pair and inferior flush draw.

The 2 on the river only improved Volpe to the nut flush and he doubled for 150,000 total.

More for Dehkharghani

Niveau 13
Ray Dehkharghani
Ray Dehkharghani

Omaha Hi-Lo

A batch of preflop action saw Chris Klodnicki raise in the hijack, followed by a two-bet from Ray Dehkharghani on the button, a three-bet by Phil Hellmuth, and a fourth bet from Klodnicki. Both opponents called and the trio went to a flop.

It came 856, and they all slowed down and checked to the 2 turn.

Hellmuth checked again, but Klodnicki bet and Dehkharghani raised. Hellmuth stood up, gazed at the board, then turned his chair around, sat back down and thought for a bit longer. Ultimately he begrudgingly folded.

Klodnicki made the call though, and he and Dehkharghani saw the river 7. Klodnicki then check-called a bet from Dehkharghani and they revealed their hands.

Klodnicki held AKK3 for kings and the nut low. Dehkharghani however had the same low, but two pair as well as he showed his A532 to take three quarters of the pot.

Deeb Eliminated by Rast

Pot-Limit Omaha

Freddy Deeb raised the pot in the cutoff and Brian Rast three-bet the pot on the button. Deeb inquired how much he could raise to and then announced he was all-in for what appeared to be around 250,000. Rast instantly called and the cards were flipped over as Deeb inquired "do you have aces, too?"

Freddy Deeb: AA106
Brian Rast: KKQ4

The 974 flop gave Rast more outs and he took the lead with the Q turn as he made two pair. He then further improved to a set of kings with the K river and sent Deeb to the rail at the end of the first level.

Coleman Sends Smith Out

Niveau 13

Pot-Limit Omaha

Maxx Coleman opened from the cutoff and then called after Dan Smith three-bet out of the small blind.

Smith moved the remainder of his chips into the middle following the 93J flop with Coleman quickly calling to put his opponent at risk.

Dan Smith: KK47
Maxx Coleman: 101066

Smith was ahead with his overpair but would need to fade a plethora of outs to stay alive. The 3 turn was clean but the 6 river improved Coleman to a full house, bringing Smith's tournament to an end.

Koray Aldemir completed and John Monnette raised, putting Aldemir all-in for his last roughly 40,000.

Koray Aldemir: 763/Q1085
John Monnette: 54A/9652

Aldemir would make a respectable eighty-seven, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the sixty-four of Monette.

As ten-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey competes in Day 2 of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), another Poker Hall of Famer was looking for his eleventh piece of WSOP gold with a deep run in Event #41: $1,500 Big O.

Johnny Chan entered the third and final day of the Omaha event toward the bottom of the counts with 18 players remaining as the 1987 and 1988 Main Event champion hoped to finally break the three-way tie between himself, Ivey and the late Doyle Brunson in second place on the all-time bracelet list.
Sadly for poker fans sweating the $1,500 buy-in event, "The Master" was eliminated 14th place for $13,982 after a confrontation with Scott Abrams.
