With 3,692 entries on Day 1a of Event #48: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em, the contest looks certain to exceed last year’s total of 7,188.

But he will face some stiff competition from other big stacks – Rajesh Goyal (429,000), Christian Munk (427,000), Joshua Mountain (383,000), and Mark Seif (355,000) – when those players return for Day 2, on June 23.

On a board reading 10♦2♠Q♣9♣, the player in the hijack seat bet 2,300 and was called by Steve Kujubu in the cutoff.
The river was the 2♥ and the hijack bet once more, this time for 3,000. When Kujubu called again, his opponent immediately said, "You got me."
Indeed he did. Kujubu turned over A♥Q♠ and the hijack swiftly mucked his cards, leaving Kujubu to add further chips to a stack which has already more than doubled in the first level of the day.

All the chips went into the middle after Arturas Astrauskas in the small blind and the big blind had a raising war. The big blind was all in for 19,200 and was covered by Astrauskas.
Big Blind: A♠A♦
Arturas Astrauskas: K♦K♠
Astrauskas was in bad shape, but a king on the flop on the completed board of K♥10♦6♣4♦Q♠ gave Astrauskas a set of kings to knock out his opponent and take an early chip lead.
