Yamashita Makes Opponent Regret Mistimed Bet

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a board reading 2x7x9x, the late position player bet out 2,000 and got called by Soya Yamashita on the button to bring out the K on the turn.

The late position player bet out again, this time for 4,000. Yamashita came over the top by potting and his opponent immediately seemed to regret his decision to lead out.

After a few moments of thinking, Yamashita's opponent showed that he was drawing with Kx8x6x and folded.

"I should've just checked," he said as the dealer pushed the chips to Yamashita,

Norik Keeps Applying Pressure

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With a few limps in front of him, Alfie Norik in the big blind declared "pot" and put out a bet of 1,600. He was called by the cutoff and the small blind.

The dealer fanned out a flop of 875. The small blind checked to Norik, who bet again, this time for 3,200. The cutoff folded but the small blind came along.

On a 10 turn, Norik barrelled again, for just over 10,000. This time it was enough to get his last opponent to fold.

Negreanu Gets a Discount, Makes the Winner

The player under the gun tossed out a single 1,000 chip and was slow to say "raise." Action folded to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind as the table discussed whether or not the player had said raise before or after the chip hit the felt.

Negreanu said it was fine and called the 1,000, but before the flop, the table seemed to reach a consensus that the raise should be a call because he was a bit late actually announcing it as a raise.

Negreanu got a 600-chip rebate and both players saw the flop come QK10.

Negreanu checked and his under-the-gun opponent tossed out a bet of 400. Negreanu put in a call to see the turn come the J.

Both players checked through to the A river and once more, both players checked through to get to a showdown.

Negreanu said, "Flush" as he turned up the 7542, causing his opponent to toss his cards in the muck as the dealer sent the pot Negreanu's way.

Ex-Manchester City Striker Sergio Aguero Makes Surprise Entry into 2023 WSOP Main Event

One of the most exciting things about the World Series of Poker is seeing a plethora of celebrities, athletes and musicians all participating in the game we love to play. And this year has been no exception with the likes of James Woods, Broadway star Aaron Tveit and UFC fighter Colby Covington all cutting up on the felt the last few weeks.

Then on Wednesday, July 5, a huge shock entrant rocked up to the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas to play the WSOP Main Event. Former Manchester City and Argentina forward Sergio Aguero entered poker's biggest event and cruised through Day 1c and ended up bagging an above starting stack for Day 2.

The soccer superstar is still in contention to make it through to the next stage as he currently sits with 150,000 in front of him, which is almost twice as much as what he started with this morning.

Henson Gets Full Double-Up with Nut Straight

Ray Henson limped from under the gun only to hear the player to his direct left announce "pot" for 1,400. The button called as did Henson to bring out the 34A flop.

Henson checked and the early position player potted again for 6,400. The button got out of the way, and Henson put in a call to see the K on the turn.

Action checked through and both players watched the 6 fall on the river.

Henson went all in for his remaining chips and his opponent wasted very little time in making the call to show the AQQJ. But his exuberance didn't last long upon discovering that his hand was way behind Henson's 10765, giving him the nut straight for a double-up.

Pandilica Triples Up with Quads

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

With the flop showing 3J9, Alin Pandilica bet 8,800 from middle position and was called by the button and the big blind.

A 9 on the turn was checked by all three players.

The river fell a 3. Pandilica's flop bet had left him with just 300 behind, which he now committed to the pot, predictably getting two calls.

Pandilica tabled AQ99 and his quad nines took down the hand.
