A Dynamic Start of Day

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Hand 1:

Just a few minutes into the day a three-way preflop all in occurred.

Diego Ventura: AK
Mark Seif: Q10
Felipe Ketzer: AJ

The flop kept Ventura in the lead but everyone with a chance to scoop as it fanned out K210. Seif needed to catch a ten as the queens were working for Ketzer and his Broadway draw.

The turn was the 4 and the K sealed a crucial triple for Ventura who was the shortest stack. Seif won the side pot against Ketzerm leaving the latter on fumes.

Hand 2:

The very next hand, Ketzer raised to 100,000 but only had 25,000 behind. Ventura felt adventurous and pushed the rest in, which Ketzer called when it folded back around.

Felipe Ketzer: K6
Diego Ventura: A7

Ketzer was double pipped but all things considered his cards and suit were live, then the flop rolled 987 giving Ventura a pair and Ketzer a straight draw.

The turn paired with the 8 giving Ventura the nut flush draw as well, but when the 5 peeled off on the river, it made the straight for Ketzer and gave him a breath of life.

One of the final bracelets of the summer will be awarded today in Event $94: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

This event saw 813 players register for Day 1, smashing last year's attendance of 573 to create a colossal prize pool of $3,739,800. Of those 813 entrants, only 60 managed to bag a stack for the second and final day. The final 60 are all in the money and guaranteed at least $12,072, however, their sights will undoubtably be set on the top prize of $701,688 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Two-time bracelet winner David Peters bagged the biggest stack going into Day 2 with an impressive 1,490,000, worth 50 big blinds. Not far behind him are Nozomu Shimizu (1,450,000), Matthew Su (1,250,000), who made the 2022 WSOP main event final table and Phil Laak (1,050,000).
