Johnson Flops Big

Marco Johnson

Marco Johnson opened from the cutoff before Anthony Marsico three-bet out of the small blind. Shyamsundar Challa called in the big blind as did Johnson to keep action three-handed heading to the flop.

Marsico bet out on the JJ7 flop only to be met by a raise from Challa. Johnson considered then called while Marsico got out of the way.

Challa check-called a bet from Johnson on the 10 turn and did so again following the 2 river. Johnson turned over QJ for flopped trips, eliciting an exasperated sigh from Challa, who could only watch as a large pot was shipped to his opponent.

New WSOP Online Poker Site Merges Three US States; 30 Online Bracelet Events Scheduled

Niveau 20 : Limits 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is making a move that will change the online poker game in the US with the launch of WSOP Online, a new platform that will bring players from three states together.

Poker players in Nevada and New Jersey are already competing against each other on WSOP.com, while those in Michigan have a separate single-state site. But that is changing with the trio of states being merged together on one online poker site ahead of the 2024 WSOP. Pennsylvania's WSOP site will not be part of the shared liquidity deal.

On top of the merger news, the WSOP has announced 30 online bracelet events this summer on the new WSOP Online.

Bardah Doubles Twice to Stay In It

Niveau 20 : Limits 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Ronnie Bardah was down to his last 65,000 chips when he was in the big blind. John Racener raised on the button and Bardah called leaving 5,000 behind.

The flop came Q54 when Bardah bet out his last 5,000 and Racener called.

Ronnie Bardah: Q4 All in
John Racener: A7

Bardah got a big blind special and flopped two pair, and the board did not improve Racener's hand, to give Bardah the double.

Just a few hands later Bardah raised from the hijack and was three-bet by Shyamsundar Challa on the button. Bardah called to see a flop.

The flop came out 495 and Bardah led out, and Challa raised to put Bardah all in. Bardah made the call and was at risk again.

Ronnie Bardah 6x6x All in
Shyamsundar Challa: AxQx

Bardah was ahead and would have to fade the two overcards to secure another double. But when the 6 came on the turn, he left Challa drawing dead. The river was the 9 and Bardah was able to double up twice in less than one orbit.

Marsico led out on the Q8Q flop and Bardah flatted to see a turn.

The same pattern was repeated following the 6 turn with both players then checking to showdown once the 7 river completed the board. Marsico tabled AK, good enough to take down the pot.

Mixed Game Legend John Hennigan Wins Seventh Bracelet at 2024 WSOP

John Hennigan Wins 7th WSOP Bracelet
John Hennigan Wins 7th WSOP Bracelet

It had been 14 years since anyone crossed the six-bracelet milestone, the last being Men "The Master" Nguyen. However, John Hennigan has now broken that streak, winning his seventh bracelet in Event #7: $1,500 Dealer's Choice at the 2024 World Series of Poker.

Hennigan defeated Robert Wells after a brief heads-up duel. With the win, Hennigan became only the ninth player to join the seven-bracelet club.

"It's Interesting to know, I guess, just like any other number" Hennigan commented when asked about the accolade. "Very happy to win the tournament. I mean to me, the best thing about winning the tournament is not losing it. Not getting second or knowing they're still playing and wandering around after you go broke. It's just very satisfying to come out on top."
