Thomas Zanot called a raise to 3,000 and the two players checked the 10♦8♣7♣ flop. On the 5♦ turn, Zanot bet 3,600 and took down the pot uncontested.
One table over, Kasparas Klezys bet the J♠8♣5♥3♥ turn when checked to by Chunliang Kuo. The latter check-called for 15,000 and checked the 4♥ river with a short stack behind. Klezys bet 25,000 and Kuo folded.
A short-stacked Shahan Sikander was all-in preflop with the 8♠7♥6♠4♣ and table chip leader Jim Collopy looked him up with the Q♠J♣J♦8♦.
The Q♥7♦4♦ flop gave Sikander two pair and a gutshot but Collopy improved to a flush with the 6♦ turn. Sikander still had some outs to boat up but the A♦ river sealed his fate.
In a four-bet pot to the A♦8♥5♥ flop, Iraj Parvizi bet 18,000 and James Chen folded.
Soon after, a multi-way limped pot followed on which Chen bet 2,500 on the 10♦7♠6♦ flop. The button and Brandon Shack-Harris from under the gun called. The 5♠ turn was checked and the A♥ river was checked to Chen, who bet 12,000. Two folds later, the pot was sent to the WSOP Omaha bracelet winner from the US.
Heads-up to the J♣8♥7♥6♣ turn, Rehman Kassam bet 8,000 and Corey Hochman called. They checked the 6♦ on the river and Kassam flashed a busted heart draw. Hochman had that beat with the Q♥Q♣8♦3♣ and won the pot.
Fahredin Mustafov bet the Q♠8♦4♥3♠ turn for 13,000 and his table neighbour called. The 5♦ fell on the river and Mustafov now checked. His opponent jammed for 31,200 and Mustafov called after some thirty seconds of consideration.
The player at risk tabled J♣10♠9♣7♥ for a busted straight draw and Mustafov earned the knockout with A♠K♠K♥4♠ for a pair of kings.
Action was heads up between Niklas Astedt in middle position and Julien Sitbon in the big blind.
The dealer fanned out the Q♦6♣A♥ flop, with Sitbon checking over to Astedt. After taking a moment, Astedt slid out a bet of 3,000. Sitbon mucked and Astedt added more chips to his growing stack.
Fabio Cantarella raised to 2,300 and Tim Van Loo made it 8,000 to go for Cantarella to call. On the 6♦3♠2♣ flop, Cantarella check-called for 6,000 before they checked the 6♥ turn. Following the 7♥ river, Cantarella checked again and Van Loo avoided a showdown with a successful bet of 8,000.
After a rough start into the day, Van Loo has leaped back above the starting stack.
