Small Blind: 10♥10♠
Larry Ormson: A♠Q♦
Laith Salem: Q♥Q♠
Salem quickly went from being ahead and poised for a double knockout to drawing dead once the flop came A♦9♠A♥, giving Ormson trips. The rest of the board ran out 8♦3♦ and Ormson took the pot to virtually triple up and eliminate the small blind.
Earlier at this table, Biao Ding and Koray Aldemir tangled in a massive pot where Aldemir was all in for around 1,100,000 with two kings, but Ding woke up with two aces to bust the 2021 Main Event champion.
Action was caught quickly on the flop of 3x8x4x as there was a jam and call to create a sizable pot.
At risk player: QxQx
Aneris Adomkevicus: 4x3x
Adomkevicus flopped two pair to make the queens shrivel up. The turn and river made it even worse as it came 3x4x run out to eliminate the player holding queens and give the Lithuanian a surge into chip lead contention.
Justin Datloff opened to 40,000 from early position and was called by Jesse Lonis in middle position. A player on the button then moved all in for their last 160,000, receiving calls from both Datloff and Lonis.
Action checked through the 2♦J♦3♦ flop to the 8♦ turn, at which point both players checked once more. The river came 10♣, and again, neither player put more chips in the pot. Lonis flipped over 6♣6♥ but could not beat Datloff's Q♠J♠. Meanwhile, The at-risk player had taken a stand holding J♥9♥ and was forced out of the tournament.
Lingkun Lu opened from early position and called when big blind Nikola Minkvo made it 175,000 to go. Lu then called Miknov's bets of 110,000 on the 6♥7♣Q♠ flop and 325,000 on the J♠ turn.
On the 2♥ river, Minkov jammed all in for 560,000 chips. Lu spent some minutes in the tank, but eventually folded and conceded the pot to Minkov.
Brandon Cantu raised to 40,000 in late position, the player on the button flatted, and Tyler Montoya three-bet shoved all in from the small blind for 405,000, putting himself at risk. Cantu got out of the way, and the button made the call.
Tyler Montoya: A♥K♦
Button: K♠Q♠
The flop came 8♠9♦2♦, with Montoya still in the lead. The J♠ rolled off on the turn, giving the button additional outs with flush and straight possibilities. The river card was black, but it was the J♣, securing Montoya the double-up.
"It's always a sweat," said Montoya as the dealer counted the chips and pushed the pot his way.
