Battle of the Big Stacks, Sheaves Comes Out on Top

Niveau 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Warren Sheaves is the chip leader at his table, and he wasn't afraid to tangle with another big stack sitting across from him. Both players were sitting well over the 600,000-chip mark, and after his opponent raised to 16,000, Sheaves called from the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and both players checked to see the turn bring the {5-Spades}. This time, Sheaves led out for 18,000, and his opponent called. The river brought the {8-Clubs}, and Sheaves checked. His opponent bet 22,000, and Sheaves quickly called. His opponent tabled {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for busted straight and flush draws, and Sheaves rolled over {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to take down the pot.

William Picot Finds His Place

Niveau 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Coming into the day, William Picot was nowhere to be found in the chip counts after being a "Did Not Report" from Day 1. However, Picot has found his place at the top of the leaderboard recently and is looking to become a name nobody soon forgets.

Picot just called a preflop raise from late position, then an opponent three-bet jammed all in for 220,000 from the blinds. The action was folded back to Picot, who called and was way ahead of his opponent with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} versus {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}, and Picot eliminated his opponent which brought his stack near the 700,000-chip mark. With just over two levels remaining, Picot's aim now is to be at the top of the chip counts when the day concludes.

Almedin Imsirovic Eliminated by Robert Chow

Niveau 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Chow raised to 18,000 from under the gun, and Almedin Imsirovic defended his big blind.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and Imsirovic checked. Chow reached into his stack and cut out a bet worth 18,000. Imsirovic thought for a moment and moved all in. Chow practically beat Imsirovic into the pot and tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Imsirovic then tabled {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights and needed to improve to hold on.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, and the river was the {9-Hearts}, sending Imsirovic to the rail. Chow has amassed a nice stack of chips and sits on a healthy stack worth about 40 big blinds.

Igor Zektser Sets Up His Opponent

Niveau 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

With around 60,000 in the pot and the flop showing {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Igor Zektser bet 100,000. His opponent asked for a count of how much Zektser had behind, then announced an all in. Zektser had around 122,000 more and instantly called with his tournament at risk.

Zektser was out in front with {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} as he flopped a set against his opponent's overpair of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The turn was the {8-Clubs}, and the river was the {10-Diamonds}, giving Zektser the full double-up.
