Daniel Negreanu fait la cours en tête sur le H.O.R.S.E. Championship

Niveau 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Ils ne sont plus que 15 en lice sur le H.O.R.S.E. Championship à 10.000$ des World Series Of Poker.

Leading the final 15 players into Day 3 is six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu who bagged an impressive 1,213,000 in chips to have over 450,000 more then his nearest rival. Negreanu rode a heat wave of cards that began just before dinner break and then on return which saw him become the first person to enter the seven-figure club. Negreanu did drop back into the pack during the last level of play, but a late surge saw him end the day as chip leader and primed for his third final table of the series and potentially a finish better then the 2nd and 3rd he has already collected.

On Negreanu's heels are Scott Bohlman (756,000), Don Zewin (704,000), Richard Chase (647,000), and Brian Rast (553,000). However, what might be just as impressive as Negreanu's three day 3s, is the fact that defending champion and Day 1 chip leader Jason Mercier is still alive and sitting with an impressive 541,000. Although Mercier is having a relatively quiet WSOP compared to his normal lofty standards, a back-to-back victory here in this H.O.R.S.E. Championship may just be one of the greatest WSOP achievements in the modern era. Plenty of talented and savvy poker veterans still remain, and come Day 3, it truly is still anyone's tournament to win.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be back on Saturday at 2 p.m. (PDT) to provide continuous live updates of the Event #30: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship as we play down until the next World Series of Poker bracelet winner is crowned!

Brandon Shack-Harris Eliminated in 16th Place ($16,951)

Niveau 19 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris - 16th place
Brandon Shack-Harris - 16th place

Stud Hi-Lo

Brandon Shack-Harris open completed all in for his last 8,000 and Yuebin Guo called. David Bach raised to 20,000 and Richard Chase called as Guo folded.

Chase then proceeded to bet every street thereafter with Bach check-calling him the whole way.

Shack-Harris: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} / {X-}
Guo: {X-}{X-} / {6-Spades} (folded on third)
Bach: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} / {X-}
Chase: {X-}{X-} / {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {X-}

Once Chase's bet of 24,000 was called by Bach on the river, Chase tabled his {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {4-Spades} for rolled up eights.

Immediately, Shack-Harris dropped his head into his hands and shook it back-and-forth from left to right.

Bach mucked, and Shack-Harris tabled his {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for trip sevens. Unfortunately for Shack-Harris, he would have to bid a farewell in 16th place for a $16,951 payday.

Daniel Negreanu

Hold'em

Daniel Negreanu raised to 20,000 and both Tom McCormick and Mack Lee both called from the blinds.

The flop landed {2-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and McCormick led for 10,000. Lee bumped it up to 20,000 and Negreanu called as McCormick folded.

The turn of the {K-Hearts} saw Lee check and Negreanu bet 20,000. Lee called, and when the river landed the {6-Diamonds}, he check-called another 20,000-chip bet.

Negreanu tabled his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Lee mucked.

With that pot, Negreanu is now the first player over one million in chips.

Rast turned over {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of eights while Chait said "Ship me the main pot" and showed {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped straight that was good for the triple up to 6,000 in chips.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Having not played a hand since his triple up, Chait was all in from the big blind against David Bach and Eric Rodawig but didn't survive this time and was eliminated.
