Mike Matusow Registers; Busts

Niveau 6 : 200/400, 0 ante
Mike Matusow in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.
Mike Matusow in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.

Mike Matusow still has a stack in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. but, with that tournament on a one-hour dinner break, he hopped (scooted) across to the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo.

"I'm either going to run up a stack or bust," he said on his way to his table.

In his first hand, he announced pot from under the gun. The next player three-bet pot to 3,600. The small blind was all in for 2,825 and Matusow moved all in as well. The other player called, putting two players at risk.

Matusow: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Small blind: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Third player: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and the player with the biggest stack rivered Broadway to eliminate two players. Matusow stood in disbelief.

"Are you serious?" he said. "This is how I'm going out of this tournament?"

"It's a gin flop, gin turn," he said moving towards his mobility scooter, "And then he hits his offsuit king?"

Matusow still has 44,500 chips, just in a different tournament.

Scott Clements Doubles Up With Quads

Niveau 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Five players limped to a flop of {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. It checked to a player in middle position who bet 700. The small blind then check-raised to 3,000. Scott Clements then three-bet all in for not much more. The remaining players folded and the check-raiser called.

Clements's opponent showed {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a flopped full house, but Clements had flopped even better than that, showing {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for quads. The turn {3-Spades} and river {k-Hearts} were irrelevant and Clements doubled up.

Jameson Painter Back to Starting Stack

Niveau 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Jameson Painter had been up to just under double starting stack, but he's dropped back somewhat. He got {a-}{2-}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} double-suited in against an opponent's {a-}{q-}{7-}{2-} on a {9-}{7-}{3-} flop.

The turn was the {10-} and river the {q-}, meaning his opponent doubled up and Painter was back to around starting stack.

Alex Luneau

Shortly after coming back from break, we noticed Alex Luneau heading to the exit.

We were told by his tablemate Adam Owen that Luneau was all in preflop for around 3,000 with aces against Ray Henson's double-suited ace-deuce, with Henson emerging the winner.
