2009 WSOP Final Tablist Antoine Saout Eliminated

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We got to the table just as we saw 2009 WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Antoine Saout getting to his feet. The board read {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and there were three all-in hands tabled.

Saout: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Manuel Jaime: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Third player: {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Saout had flopped a straight, but Manuel Jaime had made a flush on the river to eliminate Saout and double through a third player in the hand.

Greg Raymer Doing Well

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

On a {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop one player check-called a bet of 300 from Greg Raymer.

The turn was the {q-Spades} and the player checked to Raymer who bet 500. His opponent folded.

"I missed my low," he said.

Raymer showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}. "I had two flush draws," he said, "So even if you have a straight I had outs."

Men "The Master" Nguyen Eliminates a Player

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

In the very first hand Men Nguyen played having sat down in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, he got his stack in against an at-risk player on {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Nguyen showed {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} for two pairs and a backdoor low draw. His opponent held {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for aces and a better backdoor low draw. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Hearts} meaning Nguyen made his low and two pairs were good enough for the high.

The seven-time bracelet winner scooped and moved up to around 14,000 in chips.

Tony Cousineau Wins and Shows

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Four players saw a flop of {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and each checked. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and it checked to Tony Cousineau who announced pot. The player in next position called and two other players folded.

The river was the {5-Hearts}. Cousineau announced pot again and his opponent deliberated for a couple of minutes before folding.

"Do you want to see that?" said Cousineau, showing the {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. "Or that?" he continued, showing {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. His opponent nodded and Cousineau raked in the chips.

Defending Champion David Nowakowksi Feeling "Pretty Good" Ahead of Title Defence

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We spotted defending champion David Nowakowski in a pot with two other players. The three players each checked down a board of {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Nowakowski shrugged saying "ace-king." He showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} which was good enough for the high, while another opponent took the low with {2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

"I'm feeling pretty good," he said, "Feels OK. I'm back in school now so I don't play as much.

"I'm also playing the 10K."

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Several players have made a good start to their campaign here in the Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event including Greg Raymer, Fabrice Soulier, and Mike Leah.

Also in the field is last year's runner-up Timothy Vukson who bet 1,600 on a flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, then bet again when the {10-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. His opponent folded and he moves up to around 9,000.
