Alex Luneau
Alex Luneau

Alex Luneau won a big pot on the final hand of the night and secured the chip lead at the end of Day 2. The final 14 players will return Saturday at 2 p.m. and play down to a winner.

Luneau finished with 783,000 and the chip lead by more than 100,000 over the second biggest stack, Jared Bleznick (679,000).

Barry Greenstein (417,000) is one of the biggest names going through to Day 3. The WSOP Hall of Famer will earn his tenth cash of this year's WSOP and will be looking to push for bracelet number four.

Bleznick has three cashes this summer, with two fifth place finishes ($1,500 2-7 No-Limit Lowball and $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball).

Day 1 chip leader Larry Tull made it through to Day 3 as well. He bagged 418,000.

Ryan Paluf Eliminated in 15th Place ($7,126)

Ryan Paluf
Ryan Paluf

Omaha Hi-Lo

Ryan Paluf was eliminated after a pot that started three ways with Larry Tull and Alex Luneau. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and everyone checked. Tull led the {2-Spades} on the turn and Paluf called off the rest of his chips. Luneau folded.

Tull had trips with {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and was against {a-}{5-}{j-}{10-}. The river was the {6-Hearts} and Tull scooped to eliminate Paluf.

Manuel Labandeira (17th, $6,013) and Brian Nadell (16th, $7,126)

Niveau 20 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Manuel Labandeira
Manuel Labandeira

Stud Hi-Lo

At two different tables, a player was eliminated in a Stud Hi-Lo hand.

First Manuel Labandeira got all in against Jared Bleznick.

Jared Bleznick: {x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}
Manel Labandeira: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{x-} {x-}

Bleznick raised Labandeira on fourth and the two got all in on fifth. Bleznick was focused on his hand and didn't reveal his cards until seventh.

"I'm dead," Bleznick said, "you got me. Oh wait, I gotta flush."

Bleznick tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, giving himself a flush. Labandeira missed his low draw and was eliminated. Labandeira wasn't upset as much as he was confused about what just happened. Not only did Bleznick delay showing his hole cards, but when he showed the flush, Labandeira had assumed he was winning the high.

At the next table, Naoya Kihara and Jameson Painter chopped up Brian Nadell. Kihara had a flush and Painter had a better low to eliminate Nadell. (pictured below).

Noah Bronstein
Noah Bronstein

Omaha Hi-Lo

Noah Bronstein got all in against Barry Greenstein on the {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop and Bronstein needed to go runner-runner quads if he wanted to win since Greenstein had flopped a full house with {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Bronstein had {a-}{4-}{4-}{7-} and when the turn was not a four, he was eliminated in 18th place.

Stud Hi-Lo

Jesse Martin had all his chips in on an early street, either third or fourth. He had {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} when we got to to his table, and Larry Tull had {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}. Tull picked up {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to wind up with eights up. Martin improved to jacks on fifth with {j-Clubs}. The {9-Spades} did nothing for him, so he needed improvement on the river. He rolled over a {10-Spades} and told everyone good luck.

Alex Luneau: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} / {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / {2-Spades}

Alex Luneau continued his rise up the leaderboard and busted Mike Ross after Ross went all in on third street. They both started with strong hands, but Luneau made aces up and Ross couldn't hit a low, instead peeling a queen on seventh street and heading to the rail.

Down to just 8,000, William Klevitz got them in with {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} but was up against an absolute monster in the {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} held by Ryan Paluf. Paluf ran out with {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} right away, giving Klevitz no real shot as he was dealt {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}.
