Quatre Françaises ont atteint l'argent du tournoi Ladies Championship à 1.000$ l'entrée pour les femmes. Estelle Denis se classe finalement 96e pour un gain de 1545$ alors que les trois dernières tricolores en lice seront à l'arrière du peloton pour le Jour 2 qui débute samedi à 21 heures...
718 participants ont mis en place un prizepool qui permettra à la championne d'encaisser un joli chèque de 135 000$. Si Estelle Denis pourra se concentrer sur le Main Event, trois Bleues tenteront de doubler rapidement alors que la partie reprendra sur 600-1200. Thi Nguyen (15,000) mène la danse tricolore devant Nathalie Schaeffer (13,200) et Judith Ezagouri (11,900).
Estelle Denis a éliminé le seul homme qui s'est inscrit au tournoi et a donc payé 10.000$ son inscription : Simon Després-Bellavance. "J'ai gagné un flip contre lui, tout le monde a applaudit quand je l'ai bust, et il nous a quand même dit qu'il jouerait le Main Event après, c'est fou", a confié la présentatrice TV à Winamax.
Després-Bellavance est un joueur de hockey professionnel canadien s'est pointé durant le 6e niveau, probablement histoire de faire une donation et aussi un peu de pub pour trouver un nouveau club. Actuellement Free Agent, l'ancien joueur des Pittsburgh Penguins et Anaheim Ducks a aussi été à la table de Natasha Mercier : "Nous lui avons demandé pourquoi il jouait, il a confirmé qu'il n'avait pas perdu de pari. il a répondu 'peut-être' quand nous avons émis l'idée d'une oeuvre caritative, il était très tranquille et il se comportait comme si c'était une punition d'être là. La table a été vite cassée, dommage nous aurions sûrement réussi à la faire parler".
85 joueuses ont franchi la première journée et Parm Mehmi, 5e de ce tournoi en 2015, s'est installée en tête. Troisième du Ladies 2015, Amanda Sizemore est dans le Top 5 du classement provisoire. Trois fois vainqueur au WSOP Vanessa Selbst est toujours dans la course avec 94,800.Oanh Bui (92,700), Heidi May (74,400), Lynn Gilmartin (71,500), Julie Cornelius (63,900), Mandy Baker (56,000), et Na Young Kim (47,000) ont monté des jetons alors que c'est la runner-up de l'édition précédente, Mandy Baker, qui avait fait exploser la bulle. 23 joueuses ont sauté avant l'emballage des jetons parmi lesquelles Estelle Denis, Mina Greco, Natalie Hof et Anna Antimony.
