Lee Continues To Slide, Schulz Moves Among the Chip Leaders

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

On the turn of a {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board, Gyeong Beyond Le checked. Robert Schulz bet 295,000, and Lee quickly counted out the chips and called the bet. The river was the {K-Clubs}, and Lee, again quickly, cut out a bet of 750,000 and slid it forward. Schulz went deep into the tank and thought for several minutes before the clock was called on him, a trend which is becoming common at this table. As soon as the floor came over to begin his routine, Schulz plopped the chips in for a call, tossing them in Lee's direction.

Lee revealed {8-Spades}{9-Spades} for a missed straight draw.

Schulz, however, may have been considering raising on the river. He showed {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for an actual straight. It was good for him to take down the pot, and Lee shook his head in dismay as he slipped again, this time falling under three million chips.

Schulz moved close to the top of the leaderboard.

Lunkin Doubles Through Berman in Rollercoaster Runout

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

After a raise by Eric Berman in late position, Vitaly Lunkin moved all in for 855,000 from the cutoff. Berman called and found himself with the slightly inferior kicker.

Vitaliy Lunkin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Eric Berman: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop vaulted Berman into the lead, and he stayed there after the {3-Diamonds} turn, as well. However, the {J-Spades} river gave Lunkin the nut straight, and he doubled.

Piccioli Doubles With Aces vs. Kings

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From under the gun, Robert Schulz raised to 110,000, and Bryan Piccioli three-bet to 375,000 in late position. Schulz four-bet to 935,000 and called the shove from Piccioli, having his opponent covered by more than two-to-one.

Bryan Piccioli: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Robert Schulz: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

After the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Piccioli said, "That's a good flop," and the {7-Spades} turn and {6-Hearts} river brought no upset, either.

Piccioli doubled for 3,465,000, taking a big chunk off Schulz's stack, and he followed that up with the words, "Wow, I need another gin tonic. Where are the cocktails?"

Alex Massman Eliminated by Travis Lutes

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Alex Massman
Alex Massman

Alex Massman moved all in for 1,185,000 from under the gun, and it folded to Travis Lutes in the big blind. Lutes looked down at his cards and quickly put forward a small stack of chips to call.

Massman: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Lutes: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

They were off to the races, and the flop came {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Massman's nines were still in the lead, and he improved to a set on the {9-Hearts} turn. That card also gave Lutes outs for a flush, or he could make a straight with a jack.

The {J-Clubs} fell on the river, giving Lutes the straight and crushing Massman's Main Event hopes. Massman headed to the payout desk to collect his consolation prize after his deep run in the tournament.
