WSOPC Rozvadov Main Event Winner Hossein Ensan Second in Chips After COLOSSUS Day 1G

Niveau 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ensan Hossein
Ensan Hossein

Today saw the biggest flight so far of the WSOPE COLOSSUS with 318 players coming together to form the Day 1G field, and from that 318 only 19 players will be advancing to Day 2.

They are lead by Jens Jorgensen (301,500) who was the only player over 300,000. However close behind him is Hossein Ensan (290,000) and Jochen Blomker (270,500). Earlier this month Ensan took down the WSOP International Circuit Main Event here and will be looking for another deep run in this event.

Also in the field is two-time bracelet winner Barny Boatman (62,500), who will have to put tomorrow's Pot-Limit Omaha 8-or-Better on hold in order to contest Day 2 of this event, as well as 121-time WSOP casher Roland Israelashvili (182,000).

With three flights to go the COLOSSUS is already shaping up to be a big event here at King's Casino Rozvthus and all those who had failed to bag thusfar were out and about during the early levels, including Kristen Bicknell, Ryan Hughes, Chris Ferguson, Felipe Ramos, Phil Hellmuth, Walter Treccarichi, Sander van Wesemael, Rex Clinkscales, Jean-Noel Thorel and Catalin Pop.

Just 48 players made it into the money on this flight, and after an extended bubble of hand-for-hand play, which included a sickening flush vs. flush hand between Stanislav Koleno and Roland Israelashvili, Belgian player Erik Sens was sent to the rail when he couldn't beat the full house of Amine Bellal.

Israelashvili was chip leader at this point, with over 200,000 but faded towards the end of the nights, after failing to capitalise on the slew of bustouts that followed the bubble bursting.

It was Hossein Ensan who took over the chip lead when players were redrawn around three tables, but it was a late surge from Danish player Jorgensen to snatch the Day 1G chip lead away from him.

Grafton With the Gin Flop; Boatman Keeps on Pushing

Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton moved all in for 24,000 and Leonardo Romeo called.

Sam Grafton: {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Leonardo Romeo: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} giving Grafton a straight. The turn was the {4-Spades} and the river the {8-Hearts} handing Grafton the double up.

Meanwhile on a {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board, Barny Boatman had bet 20,000 into a pot of around 50,000. His opponent thought for a while before calling. Boatman turned over {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the nut flush and took down the pot.

Sens Elimination Bursts COLOSSUS Day 1G Bubble

The Colossus 1G Bubble Bursting

Erik Sens moved all in from the button and Roland Israelashvili called in the small blind, as well as Amine Bellal in the big blind.

The pair checked down a board of {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and all cards were turned over.

"I have the nuts," said Israelashvili showing a suspiciously non-quads looking {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Bellal showed {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a full house while Sens showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

"Not bad on the button," said Bellal, but it wasn't good enough to stop him from being eliminated, bursting the bubble on Day 1G of the COLOSSUS.

Israelashvili Wins Huge Pot on Bubble

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Roland Isralaeshvili
Roland Isralaeshvili

Roland Israelashvili raised to 7,000 from the cutoff and Stanislav Koleno three-bet to 19,000 out of the small blind. Israelashvili called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Koleno bet 16,000. Israelashvili called. The turn was the {2-Clubs}. Koleno continued for 25,500 and Israelashvili stood up, asking to see how much Koleno had behind. He then called.

The river was the {10-Spades} Koleno bet 35,000 and Israelashvili snap moved all in.

"Count," asked Koleno.

"I have you covered," said Israelashivli.

"I was bluffing pre-flop," said Koleno, "You don't look like you are bluffing that's the problem. I'm beaten by two hands; Ace-Queen and Ace-Ten."

Eventually Koleno called. With one all-in at the other table this hand was shown down first. Koleno showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a flush but Israelashvili showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Koleno wasn't in fact covered and was still alive in the tournament.

Meanwhile at a neighbouring table the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} of shortstack Jiri Noga held against the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Leonardo Romeo on a {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board. Hand-for-hand play continues.

Avramidis Chips Up Following Romeo Misread

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Makarios Avramidis
Makarios Avramidis

Leonardo Romeo raised to 4,200 from the hijack and Makarios Avramidis three-bet to 13,300 from the big blind. Romeo called and the flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Avramidis bet 12,000 and Romeo flat-called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {k-Hearts} and again both players checked.

Avramidis turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}. There was a pause before Romeo, with a certain confidence in his action, slammed {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} face up on the table.

There was a moment's pause and expressions of shock on the faces of his tablemates, before Romeo realised that the pocket Queens he thought he had were nothing more than Queen-high, and Avramidis took down the pot.

Stanislav Koleno raised on the button and Tobias Peters three-bet out of the small blind. Fabrice Halleux moved all in from the big blind for three blinds and Koleno called.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Peters continued for 6,700. Koleno called. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Peters bet 11,600. Koleno called again.

The river was the {q-Spades} and Peters moved all in for 16,600. Koleno thought for a while before slamming some chips down on the felt and calling.

"Good call," said Peters tabling {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Koleno turned over {a-Clubs}{9-Spades} narrowly beating his opponent's Ace-high. Meanwhile Halleux showed {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Koleno eliminated both Peters and Halleux.

Avramidis Extends Chip Lead

Makarios Avramidis raised to 2,400 from the hijack and the player in the cutoff called. The big blind moved all in for 11,900. Avramidis asked for a count before calling.

As Avramidis was counting out the chips to make the call the cutoff then moved all in himself for around 25,000. Avramidis called.

Makarios Avramidis: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Cutoff: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Big Blind: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Avramidis's Kings held to eliminate two players and boost his stack up over 100,000.

Halleux Doubles Through Peters

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Fabrice Halleux
Fabrice Halleux

Pre-flop Roland Israelashvili had a raise of 7,000 in front of him, while Tobias Peters had gone all in from under the gun and Fabrice Halleux from the next position over.

Eventually Israelashvili released his hand and the cards were turned over.

"Ace-Queen?" said Halleux but Peters turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Halleux let out an exasperated sigh as he turned over the {10-Spades}, with the dealing moving it slightly to reveal the {k-Diamonds} behind him and Halleux was dominated.

The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} with no help for Halleux. "King on the river," said Halleux as the turn {2-Spades} was dealt. The river was the {8-Spades} giving Halleux a flush.

"No comment," he said, chipping up to just under 20 big blinds.
