Post First Break Casualties

Niveau 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Simeon Todorov and fellow Bulgarian Stoyan Boyadzhiev busted in quick succession on different tables and joked, then headed to the payout desk with a smile on the face despite having to settle for €1,777. Among the other bigger names that busted in the same payout step were Ionut Voinea, Petr Stastny and Petr Svoboda.

There were already another 20 casualties after play has resumed and barely any minute passes without someone waiting for the payout.

Romeo then had Christian Thiry all in and at risk with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Thiry turned over {K-Spades}{2-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Thiry doubled his short stack for 64,000.

Rodriguez Rivers a Straight to Double Up

Niveau 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Martin Thiel came into the day as the Day 1C chip leader and continued to run up a stack in the early parts of Day 2. He was sitting with nearly 700,000 chips when he got involved in a hand with David Rodriguez.

Thiel raised to 22,000 from middle position and Rodriguez defended his big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Rodriguez check-called a bet of 25,000 from Thiel. The turn was the {q-Spades} and Rodriguez checked again. Thiel fired another 50,000 and Rodriguez called.

The river landed the {j-Clubs}, putting four cards to a straight on the board. Rodriguez pushed all-in for 89,000 and Thiel called faster than Rodriguez could blink. Rodriguez turned over {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a straight while Thiel held {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for just top pair.

Kars Busts Adomkevicius

Niveau 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Minutes after coming back from the break, Aneris Adomkevicius got his remaining ten big blinds in with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Gert-Jan Kars looked him up with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The flop of {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} spelled bad news for the Lithuanian, while the {9-Diamonds} turn gave him a flush draw.

A jack would appear on the river, but it was the {J-Clubs} that improved Kars to a flush.
