Anatoly Korochenskiy
Anatoly Korochenskiy

Anatoly Korochenskiy has busted for a second time and won't be able to re-enter until Day 1B. Chris Ferguson also ran out of chips on the first bullet, while Jeff Lisandro re-entered and quickly doubled. Also back in: Casey Kastle and Milad Oghabian.

Double Seat Open Amid Plenty of Confusion

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Double Knockout for Edgars Strupka
Double Knockout for Edgars Strupka

The flop showed {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Casey Kastle checked in the small blind, as did Milad Oghabian in the big blind. Edgars Strupka bet 2,100 in late position and Kastle check-shoved for 23,500. Oghabian pushed forward his chips and Strupka quickly tossed in a single chip for the call as far superior stack.

Casey Kastle: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Milad Oghabian: {Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Edgars Strupka: {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {K-Clubs} turn and {3-Diamonds} river completed the board, but suddenly the floor was called. What had happened? On the flop, Oghabian had kept some T-500 chips behind and was technically not all in. However, his shove over the top of Kastle would have been for his entire stack. As a result, the floor ruled it as accepted action and all chips of Oghabian went to Strupka.

Valent Doubles Through Miegel

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

On the flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Vladimir Valent bet 5,200 and called the shove of Jakob Miegel to create the following showdown:

Vladimir Valent: {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Jakob Miegel: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Miegel was ahead with bottom pair and the nut flush draw, but Valent was drawing live with his open-ended straight draw. Nothing much changed on the {4-Diamonds} turn, but the {A-Spades} river gave Valent a straight to double for 16,300.

Assorted Counts From Level Six

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Gerrit Muller has pulled further away and pulled ahead of the pack with more than four times the starting stack, while Jeff Lisandro has been eliminated and re-entered. Allen Kessler dropped to around half the starting stack and Casey Kastle recently entered on his first bullet of Day 1A.

Ferguson; Kaneoya and de Waegenaere Eliminated

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Chris Ferguson and Renato Kaneoya were spotted walking out of the tournament area and they were followed to the rail by Patrick de Waegenaere. Down to just 6,300, the Dutchman moved all in first to act and Ashot Oganesian reshoved from one seat over to isolate successfully.

Patrick de Waegenaere: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Ashot Oganesian: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop all but sealed the fate for de Waegenaere and he was left drawing dead on the {3-Diamonds} turn, making the {Q-Clubs} river a formality.

Ferrara Doubles to Big Stack

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

The cards of Zuhdija Nasic were already in the muck while he paid off the all in of Marino Ferrara. The Italian had rivered a full house with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} on a board of {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and scored a full double to get well above average.

In the following hand, Nasic doubled in a battle of the blinds against Daniel Prior. Right after the hand, Timo Kamphues joined the same table and his brother Lars sat down one table over.
