In quick succession, Jeff Lisandro and Chris Ferguson have entered Day 1A of the €550 The COLOSSUS. Both have six WSOP bracelets to their name and Ferguson has sweet memories from the King's Casino, as he won Event #7: €1,650 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better one year ago to clinch the 2017 WSOP Player of the Year race.
Ondrej Lon's first attempt was not crowned by success and the Czech re-entered soon after to get a different table. Just now he got the better of Mirza Meskic after turning the nut straight against the two pair of Meskic. The chips only went in on the 
river, though, and Lon turned over 
for the nuts while Meskic mucked 
in disgust.
Picking up the action on the 
turn, Oliver Heidel bet 5,500 in the small blind and his sole opponent Alexander Shelukhin called on the button. Heidel continued for another 11,000 on the 
river and Shelukhin now moved all in. Heidel counted his remaining stack and elected to fold.
Anatoly Korochenskiy three-bet to 3,400 on the button and the initial raiser called from early position, then checked in the dark before the flop fell 
. Korochenskiy bet 11,000 and his opponent folded.

In the very next hand, the Russian was in action once more and took on big stack Daniel Prior in the small blind. Prior checked the 
turn and Korochenskiy bet 3,600. Prior was having none of it and his check-raise to 12,200 forced a fold.
Guoliang Wei raised to 1,000 and picked up three callers including Dutch Boyd in the big blind. The flop came 
and it was the player on the button that bet 3,200 to claim the pot without resistance.

The first four levels of 30 minutes each are done and dusted, which means the first 15-minute break of the day has kicked off. According to the screens, there are 94 players out of 119 entries remaining and most of them will take advantage of the free buffet at the King's Casino already.
Towards the end of level four, Dutch Boyd was involved in another big pot and bet 20,000 on the river of a board 
. His opponent quickly called and Boyd turned over 
for second pair on the flop that improved to a runner runner king-high flush. His opponent flashed 
for the turned straight and inferior flush on the river.
Gerrit Muller has been able to more than triple up his stack already while Evangelos Vougiouklakis just tripled up his tiny stack. Vougiouklakis was already all in and awaiting his fate with the turn and river of a board 
being checked through by two other players.
The Greek tabled the for rivered two pair, his opponents mucked and 
respectively.
Renato Kaneoya has had a decent start into Day 1A and chipped up quickly before being moved tables. Just now he was in a heads-up pot and checked the 
turn. His opponent in the cutoff bet 4,000 and Kaneoya called, then checked again quickly on the 
river.
What followed was a bet of 7,000 by the player in the cutoff and Kaneoya sent his cards into the muck.
In the meanwhile, Anatoly Korochenskiy has been eliminated from a nearby table and will likely be back soon.
