Grossmann Gets a Fold on the River

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Four players headed to the flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Steven Spivack bet 1,500 in the hijack. He was called by Lukasz Grossmann on his left, the button, and Avital Katz in the big blind.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and the action checked to Grossmann this time who bet 2,500. Only Katz stuck around to see the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Katz checked again and Grossmann tossed in another bet of 3,200. Katz thought for a brief moment before sending his cards to the muck.

Campbell Back for More

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Robert Campbell has joined Daniel Negreanu in the Day 1h field in their hopes to keep pace with Shaun Deeb who is the only player in the WSOP Player of the Year race to have bagged chips thus far. While Negreanu already has a min-cash to his name, this is the last day for either of them to secure a spot in Day 2 and a chance to accumulate more points.

May Takes From Kaschubeck with Full House Against Straight

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

[Removed:218] raised to 300 from middle position and Jason May called from the cutoff, along with the button and the blinds.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and it was checked to May who bet 1,000 and only Kaschubeck called.

The {10-Clubs} came on the turn and Kaschubeck led for 2,500 this time, with May making the call.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Kaschubeck bet 3,000 with May raising to 10,000, only to get a snap call. Kaschubeck was disappointed when he saw May's {10-Spades}{7-Spades} with a rivered full house, while he flashed {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} with a straight.

Castelli Makes an Early Exit

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, Roberto Castelli already had the all-in button sitting in front of him. Castelli was all in for just over 20,000 with around 12,000 in the middle. Corrado Martinelli was in the tank for a couple of minutes before making the call and Tom Harel quickly folded.

Castelli turned over {4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a straight but Martinelli had some outs with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The river was the {j-Clubs} and Martinelli made a flush to eliminate Castelli just moments into the first level of the day.

The Penultimate Flight of Event #15: €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold'em Starts at Noon

King's Resort Tournament Room
King's Resort Tournament Room

Two more flights remain for Event #15: €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold'em here at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe and King's Resort is ready to host the players for Day 1h. The penultimate starting flight will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the field is expected to be a lot larger than the previous starting flights.

So far, there are 1,377 entries out of seven starting flights, out of which just 149 have already advanced to Day 2. Besides the efforts of the players to get their hands on a share of the €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, there is another contest that gathers much of the attention. The 2019 WSOP Player of the Year race heats up as the end of the starting flights is near for the last event of this year's WSOPE, and so far only Shaun Deeb has managed to advance to Day 2. Daniel Negreanu is still in the lead but he didn't progress into Day 2 out of the first seven starting flights and his chances are limited with two flights remaining. This means that Deeb could threaten his first place in the leaderboard if he runs deep into the event and Negreanu doesn't gather any points.

Day 1h will start with players finding in front of their seat a 25,000 starting stack and they will play 18 levels or until there are 12 players left, whichever comes first. Based on the field expected for today it is almost certain that there will be played 18 levels to determine the number of players that will be added to Day 2's field.

Also, the late registration will remain open for the first 12 levels of the day, and those who bust after this time-frame will have one last chance during Day 1i that starts at 18:00 p.m. as the last starting flight of the event.

PokerNews will be on stage to bring you all the updates of the last day of registrations for the Colossus event.
