Welcome to Day 3 of €10,350 Main Event NLH European Championship here at the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe, where action gets underway at noon local time.
Out of a field of 768 competitors, only 185 return to the felt today to continue battling it out in the hopes of taking home the €1,300,000 top prize, and becoming the next WSOP Europe Main Event champion. Leading the way is Germany's Sirzat Hissou, who has amassed a stack of 1,353,000. Hissou surged to the top of the chip counts after the two initial flights, entering yesterday as the chip leader. He solidified his position at the top and now starts again today with the largest remaining stack.

The allure of becoming a world champion always draws some of the best players to the WSOP Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov. Among the current field, 23 bracelet holders remain in contention, including Roman Hrabec (916,000), Anson Tsang (641,000), Alex Foxen (539,000), Stoyan Madanzhiev (425,000), 2019 WSOP Main Event winner Hossein Ensan (375,000), six-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb (374,000), and Dietrich Fast, who enters near the bottom of the pack with 73,000.

After two early position limps Anh Do raised to 38,000 from the small blind before Sebastian Gahl shoved for 185,000 from the big blind. The limpers folded, but Do asked for a count from the dealer, then made the call.
Sebastian Gahl: 10♠10♦
Anh Do: J♥10♥
Gahl just had to avoid some hearts or a jack to stay in the event. The runout of 7♣5♣9♣5♠7♠ kept Galh's tens ahead and he doubled up on one of the first hands of the day.

Heads-up on a flop of 10♦8♣5♥, Renata Simonaviciene bet 16,000 from the big blind and Martin Stausholm called in the cutoff.
Simonaviciene bet another 30,000 on the J♥ turn and Stausholm again called. The river was the Q♣ and Simonaviciene bet 50,000.
Stausholm then came back with a raise to 250,000 and Simonaviciene tanked for several minutes until a tablemate called the clock. She eventually put in the chips and Stausholm turned over K♣8♥ for a pair of eights. Simonaviciene had 10♥10♣ for a set as she took the big pot.
